Join our Adult Tennis League and hit the courts for some friendly competition. Our Men’s and Women’s Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles Leagues are a great way to stay active, socialize and improve your game. Plus, with players of nearly all skill levels, there’s a place for you and your game. Matches are played Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Kiwanis Park Tennis Courts.

Spring Advanced Tennis begins Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

The advanced tennis program, instructed by Brent Hughes, is for Middle School and High School students. Students are grouped by skill and ability levels to refine their technical and tactical skills through instruction and organized game scenarios. Appropriate for students focused on school team play or competitive tournaments.

Registration is now open for Williamsburg Parks and Recreation Girls Softball League (ages 5 – 13). The spirit of our league is to have fun, teach the fundamentals of softball, learn sportsmanship and fair play. Each player bats and plays in the field in every game. Games and practices are held at Kiwanis Park.

T-BALL: AGE 5 & 6
Players are introduced to softball fundamentals of hitting, fielding and throwing with game play, all while having fun! $45.00/player.

COACH PITCH: AGE 7 & 8
Players will continue to learn softball fundamentals and will play “coach-pitched games” in order to prepare them for playing the full game of softball. $50.00/player.

FAST-PITCH: AGE 9 & 10
This league is for the first year fast pitch player where the focus continues to be on player development. Players pitch to each other with scores kept. $55.00/player.

FAST-PITCH: AGE 11 - 13
This league continues to balance player development in game settings. Players play full game of softball with scores kept. $55.00/player.

COVID-19 Guidelines:
• Players must wear a mask while in dugouts and shared spaces.
• Each participant will need to supply their own batting helmet with a facemask, bat, and glove. Limited quantities of bats and batting helmets will be available for sale through the parks and recreation department. Please contact Taryn Sherrill for more information at: [email protected].
• Sharing equipment will not be allowed.
• Temperature screenings will occur at every practice and game.

Williamsburg Parks and Recreation has won an from the Virginia Recreation and Park Society for the renovation of Kiwanis Park Playground. Judged by a jury of its peers, the City won the 2019 Best New Renovation/Addition Award (Parks, Playgrounds, Blueways, Greenways, or Trails) for populations under 25,000.   VRPS hosted its 65th annual conference virtually in early October. The nonprofit received 97 applications for awards in 14 different categories.  Kiwanis Park is located at ‪125 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, VA  23185‬.

The Kiwanis Park Tennis Court resurfacing project has been completed. The courts are once again open for public use.

The tennis courts at Kiwanis Park will be closed starting Friday, June 12, 2020 for resurfacing. This will take approximately 7-10 business days, weather permitting. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Effective Monday, June 8, 2020, The City of Williamsburg will enter into Phase Two of the Forward Williamsburg Plan. Williamsburg Parks and Recreation will begin to reopen certain City park amenities with the following COVID-19 safety guidelines:

PHASE TWO OPENINGS:
• Waller Mill Park (rental services & equipment not offered)
• Playgrounds
• Tennis Courts (singles only)
• Basketball Courts (individual play only)

GUIDELINES:
• Feeling Sick? Stay Home.
• Social distance and stay 6 feet away from others.
• Wear a face covering when appropriate.
• Wash hands or use hand sanitizer.
• USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
