For the past five years, we have had the opportunity to present the Williamsburg public with a dazzling production of The Nutcracker. We are proud to offer our fifth year of our “A Gift from Clara” program, which will give two dozen free tickets away as part of our commitment to the Williamsburg community.

At SI Dance, we want to make the production magical, and make it accessible so that more families can experience the beauty of this timeless holiday tradition- sometimes, even Santa needs a little help.

If you are experiencing a hardship this holiday season and would like to be the recipient of FREE Nutcracker ballet tickets, please email [email protected] and put “A Gift from Clara” in the subject line. Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and subject to review. All ticket recipients will be notified by November 30.

Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring additional tickets, please email [email protected] and help provide local families with the experience of this timeless holiday tradition! With sponsorship from local businesses, we can offer more than the two dozen tickets that we are offering on our own! Help us in our mission for equity in the arts in Williamsburg!

This event will be held at Billsburg on Oct. 19th at 2pm and will be a HUGE amount of fun -
proceeds will go to help cover medical costs for a local friend, Candy Bresnahan, as she battles cancer.

Social Services to Close Early Aug. 6 for Staff Development, Reopen Aug. 7
The James City County Department of Social Services office will close on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 1:30 p.m. for staff development. The office will reopen on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 8 a.m.

The agency drop box located in the parking lot of the James City County Human Services Center, 5249 Olde Towne Rd., can be used to leave applications and other paperwork.

To report suspected child abuse or neglect, call the Child Abuse hotline 757-259-3201. To report suspected adult abuse, neglect or exploitation, call the Adult Abuse hotline 757-259-3115.

Voicemail messages left on the eligibility line (757-259-3131) will be returned on August 7. Reports on changes and applications are also accepted on the CommonHelp website at www.commonhelp.virginia.gov.
