DINOSAUR WRISTS 🦖
If you’re looking to build upper body strength and postural awareness, be aware of your wrists.
If you are *unintentionally* flexing your wrists during your sessions into dinosaur arms, you might be losing a lot of power!
The cue “lengthen your wrists” is for helping protect + strengthen the muscles around the wrist joint (+ up the chain at the elbow + shoulder.)
And muscles are where our power lives!
It’s easy to overlook, but essential to building a stronger practice - especially if you experience neck and shoulder pain, and have trouble with weight bearing exercises.
YOUR TURN:
Next time you hop into the Studio notice if you are *unintentionally* flexing at the wrist, and dumping into the joint.
When you lengthen them, what differences do you notice? (PRO TIP: We didn’t say “lock” your wrists 😅)
In this session, we are also trying to build her hip joint strength and neutral pelvis - other places hyper mobility likes to “hang out.”
