This post is a little personal (and long), but I feel like I need to share it with my Shed family. ❤️
Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with cancer. And yesterday got the words I never knew I would want to hear so badly…
100% clear PET scan. CANCER FREE. ❤️🙏🏻
I still have a few treatments to finish, but this girl has a lot to do… so I better get busy doing it! 💪🏻
My apologies if this is the first you are learning about my diagnosis. I shared but not as openly as posting about it.
This journey has changed me. I’m still figuring out all the ways it has, but I know one thing for sure—it has made me realize just how precious this life really is.
I’ve never felt closer to God. He was right there in the trenches with me. And looking back, there were so many little God winks along the way. Answered prayers. The right person showing up at the right time. A card, a meal, a hug, a text or a little bit of encouragement on the exact day I needed it.
And it reinforced something I have always believed, but maybe understand even more now:
We don’t invest in ourselves because it guarantees nothing hard will ever happen. We invest in ourselves so we are stronger and better equipped when it does.
Physically. Mentally. Spiritually.
We keep showing up.
And that brings me to my Shed clients. ❤️
I don’t even know if I can fully put into words what you did for me during these past several months.
You checked in on me. You prayed for me. You sent cards, flowers, meals, recipes, thoughtful messages and encouragement. You gave me hugs. You remembered treatment days. You asked how I was really doing. You gave me grace when I needed to step away, and you welcomed me back with so much love.
Some of you reached out on days when I really needed it, without even knowing it.
You didn’t just tell me you cared.
You showed me.
And I will never forget that.
There were days when I may have thought I was the one who was supposed to be encouraging you to keep showing up for yourselves, but through this experience, you showed up for me.
That means more than I could ever say.
The Shed Studio may have started as a place for movement, but you have made it something so much bigger.
You have made it a community.
A place of support.
A place where people genuinely care about one another.
And I feel incredibly blessed to be part of it.
This experience has reminded me that The Shed has always been about so much more than a workout.
It’s about taking care of ourselves.
Showing up—even imperfectly.
Giving ourselves grace.
Supporting one another.
And learning to pause long enough to actually enjoy the life happening right in front of us.
That word pause has become pretty important to me.
Pause. Look around. Be grateful. Soak it in.
Because there is so much good we miss when we are always rushing to the next thing.
So today, I’m celebrating. I’m grateful. I’m humbled. And I’m really, really excited about what comes next.
Cancer free. God is good. And this girl has a lot of living to do. 🙏🏻❤️
And I have a feeling this next chapter is going to bring some pretty special things to The Shed Studio, too. ❤️
This experience has given me an even bigger vision for what The Shed can be, how we can support one another, and the people we can serve.
New things are coming. And I truly believe the best is yet to come.
So maybe my reminder to you today is simple:
Don’t wait for the wake-up call.
Take care of yourself now.
Move your body.
Pause.
Breathe.
Be present.
Give yourself grace.
Invest in YOU.create
Life is way too precious not to. ❤️
