Pacific Martial Arts Claims Grand Champion Title at GRAPPLING X X Central Valley Jiu Jitsu Championships
CLOVIS, Calif. — Teams from across California gathered in Clovis for the Grappling X Central Valley Jiu Jitsu Championships, where athletes competed throughout the day in Gi and No-Gi divisions across youth, teen, and adult brackets.
Pacific Martial Arts Claims Grand Champion Title at Grappling X Central Valley Jiu Jitsu Championships
Leading the team standings was Pacific Martial Arts, led by Professor Matt Smith, which captured the Grand Champion Team title while also earning 1st Place Youth & Teen Gi Team, 1st Place Adult Gi Team, 2nd Place Youth & Teen No-Gi Team, and 2nd Place Adult No-Gi Team honors. The academy finished the event with 86 wins and a total of 45 medals, including 26 gold medals.
Elite Team International, led by Professor Tom Knox, secured 2nd Place in the over all Academy standings while also earning 1st Place Youth & Teen No-Gi Team, 2nd Place Youth & Teen Gi Team, and 3rd Place Adult Gi Team. The team recorded 52 wins and brought home 37 medals during the tournament.
Finishing 3rd overall was Superior Jiu-Jitsu, led by Professor Jeff Shields. The academy also claimed 1st Place Adult No-Gi Team and 2nd Place Adult Gi Team honors, finishing the day with 38 wins and 24 total medals.
Trifecta MMA Visalia, led by Professor Mando Perez , turned in a strong performance in the youth divisions, earning 3rd Place finishes in both the Youth & Teen Gi and Youth & Teen No-Gi Team standings. The academy collected 31 wins and 27 medals throughout the event.
Rounding out the featured team performances was Kihon MMA Mariposa, led by Professor Andy Maccarone, which secured 3rd Place in the Adult No-Gi Team standings while earning nine total medals on the day.
The Central Valley Jiu Jitsu Championships showcased the depth of talent throughout Central Valley California and provided another exciting day of competition on the Grappling X calendar. Congratulations to all athletes, coaches, and families who contributed to a successful event.
