Our OVPL Soccer Team of the Year Nominees!

Tim Stolz: 5⚽️ 2🅰️. One of the top scoring players for Nitro even from the defensive half of the pitch. Playing CDM & CB he contributed to Nitro’s incredible defensive performance this year. Stolz also had 2 goals in our statement 5-1 win @ Valhalla FC. Tim was Nitro’s 2024 Player of the Year & in the OVPL 2024 TOTY.

Yalcin Apaydin: Apaydin was a consistent core of the Nitro defense alongside Nathan Neal. Playing over 1,000 minutes during this campaign, he had more minutes than any other player on Northern Kentucky Nitro. He was 1 of 3 players (Apaydin, Nkomeza, Patel) to start every single match for Nitro this season. Apaydin will also be awarded Nitro’s defensive player of the year for the 2nd year in a row.

Serge Nkomeza: 2⚽️ 3🅰️. Serge had influence on both ends of the pitch. Serge is 1 of 3 players to start every single match for Nitro in our 12 game OVPL season. With 1 goal and 1 assist in the OVPL Championship, he is undoubtedly a big game player.

Asad Patel: 5⚽️ 5🅰️. 1 of 3 players to start for Nitro every match this season. Asad Patel debuted for the club on May 29th, 2022. With 2 goals in the rivalry clash vs Valhalla to secure playoffs, and 1 goal 1 assist in the OVPL Championship, he has cemented himself as a legend of the club.

Andrej Novakovic: 15⚽️ 3🅰️. Andrej Novakovic is a founding member of the club. He leads the OVPL in all time assists, but after moving to striker this season, he has tallied his highest scoring season in his career, as well as setting the single season goals record for the club at 15. Andrej had two hat tricks this season (, ). He has also been nominated for OVPL Player of the Year.

Ben Oliver: 4⚽️, 8🅰️. Ben Oliver is in his second season at Northern Kentucky Nitro. Ben tallied 8 assists this season, but the statisticians say the xA was much higher. He has also been nominated for OVPL Player of the Year.

Alex Pinkney: 169 minutes per goal conceded (including playoffs), 4 clean sheets. Alex Pinkney has shown unbelievable growth in his 3 years with Nitro. Pinkney’s regular season record of 225 minutes per goal conceded is a testament to the strongest GK+Defense in the OVPL.o
