The Kendall Jones controversy is a perfect example of anti-hunters thinking they won because they got loud and annoying, when in reality they handed a hunter a giant platform. She was a pretty blonde Texas Tech cheerleader who posted photos from African hunts, including a lion, and the internet lost its mind. Anti-hunters tried to destroy her, shame her, and turn her into the villain, but all they really did was make millions of people learn who she was. The hunting community rallied around her, people started defending legal African hunting, and Kendall Jones ended up gaining a massive following instead of disappearing. Controversy does not automatically mean something is bad. Sometimes controversy just means people are finally being forced to talk about something they didn’t understand. When hunters handle controversy with class and articulate our side intelligently, we win.
