In May, life changed forever for the Mulligan family with what was initially believed to be a Stage II breast cancer diagnosis for Bryel.
As plans were being made for treatment, additional testing-including CT scans and a bone scan— revealed devastating news: the cancer had already spread to her bones. At just 48 years old, she was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer.
She has to continue this fight as hard as she can because she has a seven-year-old son, Mason, who needs his mom. More than anything, she wants to be here to watch him grow up, celebrate his milestones, and make as many memories with him as possible.
While Stage IV metastatic breast cancer is treatable, it is not curable. She is now facing a lifelong battle that will require ongoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, routine scans, blood work, specialist appointments, medications, and treatments to help manage the disease and strengthen her bones. She also hopes to pursue complementary therapies to support her health and improve her quality of life, many of which are not covered by insurance.
The emotional and financial impact of this diagnosis is overwhelming. The cost of continuous treatment, medications, travel to appointments, lost income, and everyday living expenses will continue to grow.
This online auction has been created to help ease that burden so she can focus on what matters most-fighting this disease, making precious memories with Mason, and living each day to the fullest.
