Spreading the love of tennis and pickleball in Wichita, KS! Recent facility improvements also received recognition from the USPTA.

Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Center (RWRTC) is located in the heart of Wichita, in Riverside Park, surrounded by the Arkansas River. Serving Wichita for more than 11 years, RWRTC staff provide lessons and host junior and senior leagues on 13 outdoor/3 indoor tennis courts and 9 outdoor/6 indoor pickleball courts. RWRTC is recognized for outstanding facilities and management by the United States Ten

nis Association (USTA) and the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). These improvements include custom awnings over stadium bleachers, competition bleachers and a windbreak system, paid for by the Greenway Alliance, to reduce the effect of Kansas winds on players. 🎆 Red, White & BOOM! presented by Evergy is back! 🎆 Get ready for Wichita’s biggest Independence Day celebration as the downtown skyline comes alive with a spectacular fireworks show over the Arkansas River on Saturday, July 4!

🌟 Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. (immediately following the Wind Surge game at Equity Bank Park) 🎶 This year’s show is choreographed to music! Download the Pyrocast App or scan the event QR code to sync the soundtrack with the fireworks for the ultimate viewing experience.

🍔 Food & Festivities start at 6 p.m.

The USD 259 Middle School Summer Program is a free opportunity for incoming 7th and 8th graders in Wichita Public Schools to learn and enjoy tennis in a fun, supportive environment. Hosted at Riverside Tennis Center throughout June, the program includes practice Monday's and Wednesday's and match play sessions on Friday's.

Led by experienced high school coaches and Riverside Tennis Center pros, this program helps students develop fundamental skills, build confidence, and connect with future teammates before entering high school. Every participant will receive a free tennis racquet, a program T-shirt, and all the necessary equipment to ensure they have everything needed to play. No online registration. As you make plans for the holiday, here’s a look at Wichita Park & Recreation facility hours for Memorial Day (Monday, May 25):

• Park Administrative Offices and Recreation Centers will be closed
• Golf Wichita and Riverside Tennis Center will remain open with regular programming
• Four of the six Wichita Public Pools will be open from 1-5pm; visit wichita.gov/aquatics for details
• Splash pads will be open from 10am-8pm
• OJ Watson Park will close at 6pm, with amusement rides closing at 5pm
