•Taking a step back•
As a woman who has struggled with her body image and her relationship with food, loving my body has been a very hard thing for me to do. I have always thought the number on the scale mattered as well as having a flat stomach but it doesn’t.
As I took a step back and looked at my body I noticed what all it has done for me.
It has
•allowed me to compete for 9 years
•squat 375
•bench 215
•deadlift 415
•compete in strongman
•compete in CrossFit
•box and mma
•cut and gain weight
•set multiple state records
•KEPT ME MOVING
After 9 long years I have realized that having a body that moves is okay !!!
I am a strong woman who loves her body, who has confidence in herself!!!
Take a step back and look at what your body does for you!!

Let’s talk powerlifting!
I have been competing in powerlifting for 8 years and going, and let me tell you it’s as much of a mental game as it is physical!

-Getting physically ready for a meet-
•following programs that are 6-8 weeks long
•tracking your food and watching your weight
•maintaining and knowing how to feel for an RPE and when to stop when the weight is to heavy or to keep going when it feels light
•NO SLACKING DO THE ACCESSORIES

-Getting mentally ready for a meet-
•don’t be hard on yourself when you have a bad day or week
•surround yourself with things that make you happy or workout with a group that makes you feel empowered
•it’s okay to have a mental day! Mental health matters because if you have the mentality that you can’t do something then you won’t ever do it.

Getting ready for your meet is nerve wracking to say the least but if you have a good mental state, a supportive crowd and coach along with a can do attitude, you can do anything you put your mind too!
