#1 is a big one. It's easy to watch kids in warm ups and see what their throwing mechanics look like. That is much more indicative of future performance than the few throws they make in their official tryouts.

Midwest Elite youth teams will have open tryouts for the spring 2015 season this Sunday, the 26th, at Hardball U. 1505 Lamar st, Wichita Falls.

The coaching staff for all teams 11u and above will be paid professional coaches. If you're looking for an alternative to "daddy-ball" programs, if you're looking for the opportunity to play in a youth World Series event, if you're interested in playing in the premier youth baseball program in North Texas, come tryout this Sunday.

We are proud to announce that we will become an 11u team for the spring season. Additionally, we are very excited to announce that we have hired Ryan Johnson as the new head coach for the spring season. Ryan has played collegiate baseball at Murray State College, and will be a tremendous asset to the program. As a reminder, open tryouts will be on the 26th of October at Hardball U starting at 4pm. Please arrive 30 minutes early to register.

Parents: Clearly we need some additional practice time outdoors. We are planning to add a weekly practice on Sunday Afternoons at the Rider HS Baseball field. Please let me know if this is a conflict with any other sports or activities.

Overlapping but different roles in a young athlete's life...

Healthy communication is the key to developing respect and trust between coaches and parents. This means developing shared expectations, giving each other breathing room, understanding roles, keeping the communication productive, and remembering to keep the feedback coming.
