A TOUGH ONE AT HOME. 💔🏈

Memorial falls to Canyon Randall, 35-34 in overtime at Joe Golding Field at Memorial Stadium. 🏟️

The Mavs came out firing 🔥, jumping out to a 14-0 lead and controlling the game from the opening kickoff. Memorial held the lead all the way to the final seconds, but Randall found the end zone as time expired ⏰ to tie the game and force overtime. 😬

After Randall scored in OT, the Mavs answered with a touchdown of their own 💪🏈 but couldn't convert the extra point, giving Canyon Randall the 35-34 win.

Playing at Herman Clark Stadium in Fort Worth, Legacy cruised past Head Coach Greg Davis’ alma mater, Eastern Hills, 56-16 in a dominant performance!

For the 2026 season, WFISD Athletics will be enforcing this much more strictly and consistently.

EVERYONE on the sidelines must have and wear a current, approved 2026-issued sideline pass at all times, with the exception of official team and game personnel, including coaches, players, athletic trainers and authorized team support staff.

This includes:
• Professional media
• Student media
• Team photographers
• Booster club tunnel crews
• Photographers and videographers
• Anyone representing a team, booster club or organization

Being affiliated with a team, school, booster club or media outlet does NOT automatically provide sideline access. No approved pass = no sideline access before, during or after the game.

📰 PROFESSIONAL MEDIA

Only professional media outlets will receive WFISD Athletics media credentials.

📸 TEAM PHOTOGRAPHERS

Team photography passes are handled through the Legacy and Memorial booster clubs. If you are not credentialed professional media and want sideline access as a team photographer, you must contact the appropriate booster club.

If they do not provide you with a pass, you cannot be on the sidelines.

Team photography passes provide sideline access ONLY and do not provide press box or other restricted media access.

🚨 WHY THE EMPHASIS?

This is NOT a new policy. We are simply making it clear that it will be enforced much more tightly this season. Limiting sideline access helps reduce traffic and keeps the environment safer and less congested for our student-athletes, coaches, officials and game personnel.

Please have the appropriate pass BEFORE arriving at the game.

There was no shortage of big plays Thursday night, but this one made HISTORY! 📖🔥

Memorial QB Cole Birkhead connected with Izaeah Foster for a school-record 6th touchdown pass of the night, giving the Mavs another huge moment in their 54-34 season-opening win over Fort Worth Paschal! 🤘🐂

And Birkhead wasn’t done yet…

He added ONE MORE touchdown pass in the second half to finish the night with a record-breaking 7 TD passes! 😮‍💨🔥
