📣 RULES REMINDER

Anglers, captains, and team admins are responsible for reading and understanding the complete THSBA rules before participating in a tournament.

Several important requirements are missed each season. Please pay close attention to:

🎣 Fishing license requirements
🛥️ Boat insurance requirements
💺 Approved seating locations
🚫 Tournament off-limits areas

Do not wait until tournament week to review the rules. Taking a few minutes now can help prevent confusion, penalties, or disqualification later.

Please make sure everyone involved with your team has read the current 2026–2027 THSBA rules. If you have questions, contact THSBA before the tournament.

📄 CHECK THE TOURNAMENT INFORMATION PAGE

A Tournament Information Page will be posted in the THSBA App and on our website no later than two weeks before each tournament.

This document contains important event-specific information that may not be listed in the THSBA Rules, including:

🎣 Catch and length requirements
📍 Check-in times and locations
⏰ Official competition times
🗺️ Weigh-in maps and instructions
📋 Additional tournament details
⚠️ Important rules and reminders

Tournament information can change based on the lake, facility, and event. Anglers and boat captains are responsible for reading the entire Tournament Information Page before every tournament.

Do not assume the details will be the same as a previous event. Check the App or website before you travel and arrive prepared!

🎣 THSBA Boat Captain Profile 🎣

Boat Captains are a vital part of every THSBA tournament. If you plan to serve as a captain this season, make sure your profile is completed and that you meet all eligibility requirements.

✅ Boat Captain Requirements
• Must be SafeSport Act Certified (certification is valid for 2 years).
• Cannot have worked as a fishing guide on the tournament lake within 30 days prior to the event.
• A guide is defined as anyone who has accepted any form of compensation for providing information on locating or catching fish.
• Cannot be actively competing in the Bassmaster Elite Series, MLF Bass Pro Tour, or National Professional Fishing League (NPFL).
• To captain at a THSBA Regional Championship or State Championship, you must have served as a Boat Captain in at least one THSBA Open Tournament during the current school year.

📱 Complete your Boat Captain Profile through the THSBA App.

🛡️ SafeSport certification details can be found under the Background section of the THSBA website.

📖 These are some of the primary requirements. For the complete list of eligibility requirements, exceptions, and responsibilities, please review the 2026-2027 THSBA Rules before registering.

⚠️ Please create only ONE Boat Captain Profile. Do not register multiple Boat Captain profiles under the same person.

🎣 THSBA Angler Profiles Are Now Open! 🎣

Ready for another great season? Before you create your Angler Profile, take a moment to make sure you're registering correctly.

✅ Who Can Compete?
• Students in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade
• Seniors must not turn 19 before September 1 of their senior year.
• If you graduate during an active THSBA season, you may finish the season unless you begin competing with a college fishing team.

🏫 Who Can Join?
• Public schools
• Private schools
• Homeschool students across Texas

Homeschool anglers may form their own team or join a local school's team if that school allows participation.

🎣 Team Requirements
• Student anglers may compete for only ONE THSBA-affiliated team each season.
• If your school already has a THSBA team, you must compete for that team.

💳 Season Membership
• $65 per competing angler profile

⚠️ Important Profile Reminder
Please create only ONE Angler Profile. Do NOT register multiple angler profiles.

Creating duplicate angler profiles can cause problems with your Angler of the Year points, tournament registrations, and season records.

❓ Need Help?
If you're having trouble accessing your account or profile, do not create a new one. Contact us at [email protected], and we'll be happy to help.

See you on the water for another incredible THSBA season! 🎣
