Congratulations, Scarlett Stamper! You always make us proud! 💙

Each year, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association honors a senior participant in the Girls' State Tournament with the JB Mansfield Award, in memory of the former KHSAA Commissioner. This award is based on excellence in four areas -- Academic Achievement, Basketball Ability, Citizenship and Sportsmanship. The recipient also receives a one-time, non-renewable $1000 scholarship provided through the donations of KHSAA Corporate Partners.

The outcome wasn’t what we hoped for, but we couldn’t be more proud of this team. They represented the Lady Cougars with heart, toughness and a love for each other all season long.

Looking up into the stands at Rupp and seeing so much blue was incredible. Thank you to our fans and community for the support you continue to show these girls. Letcher County always shows up for one another!

And to our seniors, Anna, Alli and Scarlett — thank you for the leadership and legacy you leave behind. You will be missed more than you know! You will always be a special part of Lady Cougar basketball. 💙🏀
