Unbreakable Fitness Become Unbreakable

04/04/2023

Losing weight, getting in shape, and finally feeling IN CONTROL is possible for anyone.

The reason so many people fail or end up feeling stuck can be simplified down to one of these three categories:

👉🏼 They haven’t taken action yet. Whether it be from fear, lack of knowledge, lack of guidance or accountability, etc. The first step has yet to be taken.

👉🏼 They started something, but it isn’t necessarily the right thing for THEM. Whether they are trying some gimmick products, fad diets, improper or inconsistent training, it just isn’t getting them the results they want to see. And it is FRUSTRATING.

👉🏼 They have GIVEN UP too soon. We live in a world where people want instant gratification. That is just not how health works. It needs constant input, constant effort. If you try something for a month, but then you stop, you haven’t given yourself the time needed to actually make progress.

Once you pass these three surface level categories, you could branch off into an unlimited number of reasons why you aren’t where you want to be.

If you need help navigating your fitness journey, DONT allow yourself to continue to fall victim to this frustrating cycle.

Adjust your daily actions and habits to align with your health and fitness as a priority.

If you’ve got pain, tightness, or aching in your wrists, elbows, shoulders, low back, or hips, THIS IS FOR YOU!

Dead hangs, the furthest thing from some of the wild stretches you see online. But the benefits of done properly are plentiful.

Using a pull up bar or gymnastics rings, grab a hold, preferably with the thumb over top as shown here. Relax your biceps, shoulders, and low back/hips, and let everything sink down towards the ground with your head between your arms.

As you relax and focus on your breathing, you are simultaneously decompressing all of these major problem joints.

- Wrists
- Elbows
- Shoulders
- Ribcage
- Low back/hips

If grip strength is an issue, you can use straps to assist with holding. You can also leave your feet on the ground / a box if it makes you feel more comfortable, just make sure you keep your leg involvement to a minimum in terms of support! The focus is to let your own body weight decompress all those joints!

Accumulate even just a few minutes before/after each workout, and you will start to notice a difference sooner rather than later!!!

What does it REALLY take to make changes to your body, both physically and mentally, that actually LAST?

It’s not just about mindlessly making drastic changes and seeing how long you can keep them up until you inevitably burn out and regress.

It’s about making small changes bit by bit to your way of life, getting better at living with structure, and slowly making a change INTERNALLY.

Once you change internally, the habits and tasks it takes to make the physical and mental changes you are after become part of your normal daily life.

Once it’s part of your normal daily life, it doesn’t feel like a chore, and will stick with you long term.

Pt. 2 - This one is for those of you DO have a consistent workout routine…

Typically once you find yourself a few years into a consistent workout program or routine, the thought of having to take a rest day will actually make you feel guilty.

It is easy to overthink and over complicate rest days even as someone with a lot of experience.

But your body will KNOW what it needs. Shut your mind off for a second, and just allow yourself to physically FEEL. If you have been grinding hard, and you feel like you’ve been hit by a bus, you probably need to give your body a break.

That doesn’t have to mean “do absolutely nothing for a day”. That could mean a heavy lifting session turns into lower intensity or less volume, or maybe just some accessory work. Or, it could mean shortening your run, or slowing the pace down. Then again, it could actually mean complete rest.

But the most important thing to keep in mind, is that taking one rest day every so often does NOT mean you are lazy, or mentally weak, or that you will lose years of progress.

It DOES mean that you are allowing your body the physical regulation it needs to properly recover and prevent injury or overuse.

If you never take your foot off the gas pedal, your car is going to have problems sooner than the person who knows how to use their brakes.

If you are brand new, or are just starting a consistent workout routine, don’t overcomplicate rest days!!!

➡️ focus on getting consistent
➡️ build up momentum with your progress
➡️ test what your body is capable of
➡️ find your limits!

Focus on MOVING first. Let your coach handle the small details. You are more likely to hinder yourself focusing on taking rest days than you are to overtrain at such an early point in your fitness journey!

Very few of the barriers or limitations I hear to achieving health and fitness related goals are TRULY uncontrollable from an internal perspective.

Not enough time.
Don’t know where to start.
Too expensive.

The list goes on.

The real underlying limitation is that you may not even believe that you CAN lose the weight, or lean out, or get stronger, or gain back your confidence and energy.

It’s not just about WANTING it badly enough, but actually KNOWING that that version of you CAN exist. Once you truly believe that version of you WILL exist in the future, all those other roadblocks will solve themselves.

You’ll wake up earlier and manage your time better.
You’ll hire a coach or mentor to guide you.
You’ll financially prioritize yourself and your health over short term satisfaction through material things.

If you need help getting out of your own way, DM me to see how I can help you stay accountable and adjust your mindset from “that will never happen” to “that is GOING to happen”
