Anna always ends her classes with the Student Teacher Prayer. As she enters her final week with LOVE, we wanted to memorialize this meaningful tradition. 💚
Anna explains: “I was introduced to the Teacher-Student Prayer while studying yoga at Kripalu; it’s an integral part of their training programs, and it’s an integral part of my practice!
The Teacher-Student Prayer is how I choose to close my classes. For me, it serves as a reminder—to myself and to my students—that we are all the same. We are all hearts connected by invisible threads, walking the path of yoga together.
While I may have spent more time studying certain aspects of the practice—the limbs, the sutras, and other teachings—that does not make me more of a teacher than anyone else in the room. We are all teachers, and perhaps more importantly, we are all students, forever and always.
This prayer reminds us that we are nourished and protected together, learning side by side as we study with dedication and sincerity. May our shared practice help us live more awakened, aligned, and compassionate lives.”
If you’d like to practice with Anna before she leaves, there are still a few spots available in her Wednesday morning Hot Vinyasa Flow class. Her farewell Vin Yin class on Sunday morning is currently full, but you can join the waitlist. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating and honoring Anna during her final week at LOVE. 💚
