At our Dominican High School end-of-school-year Honors Assembly this May, we were privileged to introduce a new team-based athletic award, to be presented annually: the Gregg Trojanowski Award.

Mr. Trojanowski dedicated over 30 years to Dominican, serving from 1966 to 1997. He spent more than two decades in the classroom as a Social Studies teacher before becoming a Guidance Counselor, where he continued to shape and support students in meaningful ways. He also made a lasting impact on the basketball program, beginning as the freshman coach and eventually leading the Varsity team to a State Championship in 1991. As importantly, Mr. Trojanowski believed deeply that academics came first, modeling an unwavering commitment to student-athlete success beyond the court.

In that spirit, the Gregg Trojanowski Award recognizes the Dominican High School Varsity athletic team that has achieved the highest collective GPA over the course of the school year. It honors not just athletic participation, but discipline, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence in the classroom.

We are so proud to share the very impressive average GPA of our 2025-2026 Athletic Teams:
• All boys’ teams: 3.31
• All girls’ teams: 3.48

The winner of the 2025-2026 Gregg Trojanowski Award was our girls' volleyball team (some members pictured below, along with Coach Mitchell Pignotti), with an amazing Team GPA of 3.88!

Congrats to all our Knights on a fantastic year in the classroom!!

The only thing more amazing than this spirited send-off this morning of our Dominican High School State-qualifying Track & Field student-athletes might be…those very Track & Field student-athletes! Wishing our Knights the best in LaCrosse — we’ll be cheering for you loudly and proudly!

Congratulations to Dominican High School graduating Senior, Gabe Mazza, upon qualifying for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Sectional Golf Tournament held today at Washington County Golf Course! Here, Gabe lines up for a birdie putt on 14, which he (of course) made, as part of a strong finish!

In an epic comeback for the ages, our Dominican High School Knights softball team rallied from a 6-run deficit in the 6th inning for a very hard-earned 10-9 win today in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) playoffs!! Sophomore LuLu Sims would cap off a gutty pitching performance with this catch in the bottom of the 7th inning, and as Coach Weiler enthusiastically declared post-game, for the 3rd straight year, our ladies are off to the Regional Finals!!!

It’s a beautiful Spring/Summer day for the Metro Classic Conference golf tournament! Today, our gracious host is the Wisconsin Country Club — the course may be the only thing more beautiful than the weather! Our Dominican High School Knights are battling for a top spot, and senior Sam Piotrowski is helping to lead the charge. Here, “Pio” enjoys a genuine “get in the hole!” chip onto the 9th green, narrowly missing the cup. He would finish it off with a nice putt moments later.

Our Dominican High School boys’ tennis team members are having themselves quite the season! It continued yesterday with a clean sweep of all their singles and doubles matches in a big team win. So proud of their hard work, dedication, and development, and grateful for the leadership of Coaches John Dereszynski and Brian Conole!
