The Jiu-jitsu Academy of Southern Maryland The Jiu-Jitsu Academy of Southern Maryland provides a comprehensive system for self defense. You will learn the most effective form of self defense available.

Here at Southern Maryland Jujitsu Academy we offer the most comprehensive and well rounded martial arts program in the DC metropolitan area. The jujitsu program you will find at Southern Maryland Jujitsu Academy is unique to the Metropolitan DC area for two main reasons. First, unlike other Jujitsu programs (and their off-shoots, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Kenpo Karate, Aikido, and Kodenkan Jujits

u) which focus either mainly on ground grappling or predominantly standing and or striking techniques, Southern Maryland Jujitsu students can expect to learn a complete system of jujitsu. By its “Webster” dictionary definition, Jujutsu, Jujitsu, Jiu jitsu, is, “strikes to vital areas, redirection and evasion techniques, joint dislocation and bone breaking techniques, off balancing and throwing techniques, pinning and controlling techniques, defense against blunt, edged, and firearm weapons, along with strangulation and neck breaking techniques”. At Southern Maryland Jujitsu Academy we stick to the letter of the law (or at least the dictionary). All aspects, areas or zones of a violent encounter will be covered. At Southern Maryland Jujitsu we are so proficient at this overall skill that we have produced National, Regional, and or State Champion’s in the advanced, intermediate, and lower divisions of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu point tournaments, Judo tournaments, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Submission Only tournaments, Sport Karate tournaments, Sport Jujitsu tournaments, Traditional Jujitsu competitions, and Mixed Martial Arts events.
