He began his teaching career in LaQuinta, California in the mid 1980’s under the tutelage of Master PGA teaching professional Boots Jennings. He then worked for former PGA tour player Gary Hopkins at his golf teaching academy in LaQuinta, California. John relocated to the East Coast in the mid 1990’s to take the position as Director of Golf Instruction at Cherry Lawn Golf Facility, New Rochelle, N

ew York. He established the John DelVecchio School of Golf which encompassed player development through private golf lessons, semi-private lessons, group clinics, junior clinics, playing lessons and video analysis. The programs were designed to accommodate golfers of all ages and skill levels. His traditional hands on approach ensured success for all golfers, with a strong emphasis on fundamentals. Upon closure of Cherry Lawn, John relocated to the Westchester Golf Range, White Plains, New York, where is currently a member of the teaching staff. He continues to provide a full range of instructional services at Westchester. John’s love of the game and passion for teaching is only surpassed by his desire for his students to achieve their goals and to enjoy the game.
