Last weekend we traveled to Gainesville Georgia to compete at The Wicked Weekend 2026. We had 760 entries, including lots of friends from Texas and Thornhill crew.
This year the track was a little bit smaller than usual and had a fun to drive, flowing layout with lots of fast sections, with laptimes to the mid-to-low 30s range. The track started to develop deep craters and ruts early on, becoming a mix of hard-pack groove and blown out dust/holes before qualifying even started. This was a huge challenge and simultaneously a lot of fun and very frustrating, ha ha!
Connor qualified P3 in Intermediate E-Buggy C main, with hopes of bumping into the B by finishing P2 or better. As luck would have it, the race was the first race of the day on Sunday, taking place at 7am on a muddy track. Our past experience helped us out here, as we came prepared for those conditions with specific suitable tires. The fight for the bump was on and would've been super fun, but unlucky contact with a flipped buggy would end his chances due to a bent shock. Finished P3.
In Intermediate Nitro Buggy, Connor qualified P12 in the B main. This race was stacked with very fast racers, including Reggie Tounge, Renato Tradardi Jr, Enzo Albertoni, and even YouTube star Ryan Harris. So, we did not expect to earn a bump here and just ran our race and looked for enjoyable on-track battles. Connor would finish P8.
Carlos qualified P12 in 40+ E-Buggy B main and finished P15 after getting caught by the left side double rut almost every lap, a consequence of ending up standing on the right side of the driver's stand where it cannot be seen unless you are 8ft tall. In Intermediate Buggy he started P12 in the D main. This race was ran on Saturday night and he finished P15 after struggling with traffic.
Tires of choice were M3 Crimewave in wet conditions and AKA SSLW Supernova in dry conditions.
