Looking at these two pictures side by side really puts into perspective just how far these girls have come.
When we started our travel ball journey, our goal was never to be the best team out there. Our goal was to BUILD a great team. At this age, it is so important that these girls still have FUN. At the end of the day, softball started as a backyard game—a game these girls fell in love with because they enjoyed playing it. 🥎
💚 We started in 8U, and now here we are in 10U.
We have taken plenty of losses along the way, and we will take plenty more. That is part of the game. But to us, winning has never been measured by a scoreboard alone.
We win every time one of our girls makes a play she has worked so hard to make.
We win when she hits the ball harder than she did the game before.
We win when she makes a catch she couldn’t make last season.
We win when she steps into a new position and gives it everything she has.
We win when she learns, grows, gains confidence, and walks off that field wanting to get better.
Our coaches have always wanted a team full of girls who are dedicated, coachable, willing to work, determined to improve on and off the field, and—most importantly—still having FUN and making memories together. 🩷💚
Yesterday, so much of what these girls have worked for came to light. We moved girls out of their “normal” positions. We gave pitching opportunities to girls who may not normally get as many innings. We challenged them to step outside of their comfort zones and try something different.
And they absolutely killed it. 🔥
Watching them trust themselves, trust each other, and show what they have learned reminded us exactly why we started this team.
We will continue to stick to what we believe in. We will keep developing these girls. We will keep challenging them. We will keep showing up, working hard, having fun, and making memories.
If you’re with us, you’re with us. If you’re not, you’re not. Either way, we’re going to keep doing what we believe is right for these girls. 💚
Because one day, when their softball days are behind them, they probably won’t remember every score. They won’t remember every win or every loss.
But they will remember the teammates who became friends.
They’ll remember the laughs in the dugout.
The road trips.
The tournaments.
The celebrations.
The families cheering them on.
And all those little moments that became core memories. 🩷
And THAT is what this journey is really about.
