Precision Riflesmithing by Bryant Custom LLC

Precision Riflesmithing by Bryant Custom LLC I’ve been building custom rifles for the public since 1997 and have been competing in NBRSA 100/200 yard benchrest since 1982.

I’ve seen a lot of changes in the sport in the last 44 years. Better bullets, barrels, and optics resulting in better aggs.

A little something different today. Tenon threads were a lot different than what I normally cut. Most generally I can set the thread pitch on the lathe without looking at the chart on the lathe. Had to look at it to set this one.

Just finished test firing a new 6.5 PRC built on a Kelbly Nanook action, Bartlein 3B spiral fluted barrel finished at 21”, threaded 5/8-24 for suppressor, pillar bedded in a Peak 44 Bastion carbon fiber stock. The rifle without the suppressor and scopes tips the scales at a petite 6 pounds 9.5 ounces.

Had a 40X come in with a Jewell trigger on it. Arnold Jewell recommended cleaning his triggers with lighter fluid and running them dry with the residue left over when the lighter fluid dried as the only lubricant. It’s going to take an hour to clean this trigger back up to what it should be and get it back together. Don’t douse triggers with oil, pure and simple. Turned out took 45 minutes including soaking time from start to finish.

A couple of rifles that shipped out this week to their new owners. The red and black one is a Bat B glued into a McMillan Edge McMillan Stocks. Krieger 13.5 twist barrel is chambered in 6 PPC .269" neck and has a Shilen competition trigger. PMA tuner. The blue rifle is a Bruno McMillan HV stock with a Borden Accuracy BRMXD action pillar bedded into the stock. The Shilen select match barrel is chambered in 6 BR with a .265" neck. I also sent out a Brux barrel chambered for a 6 BR with a .271" neck and the .060" freebore extended another .235" to match the dummy round that he provided. That one was on a Stiller Tac 30 action and had a Erik Cortina tuner brake. No photos of it.
