When it comes to teaching our tots how to swim, there's nobody better than Abby! Here we have why.

Parent & Tot classes like these are incredibly important to a child in their development. Not only are we looking to desensitize a child to the sights & sounds of water, but we're also looking to develop the small muscles that aren't addressed by crawling and walking.

For a class like this, parents and instructors work together to make sure a developing child is able to learn important skills in the water. If you think it's time to introduce your tot to the pool, check out https://www.wheatonsportcenter.com/child-care/childrens-programs/ for more information!

Meet our Mind & Body Manager Katie Martin!

Driven to Pilates through her stint as a professional ballet dancer, Katie has spent the last 26 years teaching others the art of the craft.

Returning members may recognize Katie around the club from her warm personality, positive mindset, or helpful insight when it comes to training and wellness. More important than her presence, is her impact. Did you know she designed our entire Pilates curriculum? That's right! Every time you step onto a reformer, you're completing a professionally crafted experience.

Ever thought about adding swim to your workout routine?

Here's 3 reasons why you absolutely should.

1. You can build your cardiovascular health. Spending an hour in the pool one time a week has proven to reduce blood pressure and risk of heart disease. Running and cycling work, but swimming is just as effective at building your cardio health.

2. You can build muscle. Lifting is the most effective way to build muscle, but rarely will you complete a full body workout. Swimming will unlock muscles you didn't even know you HAD! It's a full body workout everytime you jump in the pool.

3. Stress Relief. Even just being in the water has proven to relieve stress in some individuals. Regardless of your reason for being in the water, it'll still relieve some of the built up stress you've got in your life.

The body you love isn't built in isolation, it's built through community and a supportive culture.
