It has been a great year at the Twin Pine Bison Ranch. Our Bison Ops team has led over 100 hunts in the last 3 months. We all even got to tag along for each other’s hunts, as most of our employees bought a bison hunt this season. We are thankful for another successful and safe hunting season and look forward to next year.

In the meantime, we will be offering whole bison shares for sale and processing. Contact us for more information on how you can get some bison meat for your freezer!

We're offering whole shares of young bison heifers and bulls at a discounted price, compared to our guided hunts.

This is a site-unseen transaction, meaning your selection will be based on age and s*x of the animal you paid for, and our bison team will ensure you receive a healthy animal for processing.

Important Details:

-We’re only selling whole bison shares, not split shares.

-Friends can join together to purchase a whole bison with a single payment.

-We won’t be handling split payments or dividing the meat.

-Our involvement: we’ll take payment, schedule processing, select and dispatch the animal, field dress it, and deliver it to Mill Iron L Meat Processing in Wheatland, WY.

-Want to keep the head and hide? You can arrange that directly with the processor.

-We recommend Stoll Taxidermy and Wildlife Studio, a great local taxidermist, who will pick up your head and hide from Mill Iron L for your mounting, tanning, or shipping needs.

After 3 days and 3 nights in the field fighting the 25,000+ acre fire in Platte and Goshen counties, the Twin Pine Bison Company crew is finally departing and going home to get some much needed rest and family time.

A heartfelt thank you to Grady, Nick, Delbert, Blake and Caleb for sacrificing time with their families to be out on this devastating fire, ensuring the safety of others. Your dedication is truly commendable.

Some fun facts about calves!

~TEACHABLE TUESDAY~
Bison calves are not born with the distinctive horns we see on older animals. Instead, they have what are called horn buds. These horn buds are positioned on the top of the head where the horns will develop. At birth, they are free-floating in the skin and not attached to the skull. Over time, the bud will attach to the skull and connect the horn and frontal sinus.
The buds on the calf in this photo are just beginning to grow and will develop into small horns in the next few months and continue to grow as the animal matures.
