ABOUT COACH BILL

Through Colorado Rage, Coach Bill continues to bring his effective techniques and training regimens to runners of all ages and skill sets. COACHING

Bill Stahl has coached high school cross country and track for more than 25 years. He has a special talent for taking struggling programs and growing them into large, competitive teams. Through compassionate coaching, Bill brings a p

ositive philosophy to his running teams, fostering a fun environment that turns beginners into enthusiastic, lifelong runners. Coach Bill’s athletes include state champions, college-level athletes of every division, Olympic Trials runners, and top finishers in major marathons around the country. He is a Certified USA Track & Field Level 1 coach and uses his technical eye to improve form and help prevent injury. After inheriting Horizon High School’s small team of six runners, Bill built up the team to 50 athletes and got the boys’ cross country team qualified for State for the first time in 11 years. His work with the girls’ cross country team resulted in the school’s first girls’ first trip to the State cross country meet in the school’s history. At Lutheran High School, he started a team from scratch and led it to a Metropolitan League title in its third season. RUNNING

Bill has finished hundreds of races, but these days specializes in ultramarathons. He has finished the Leadville Trail 100 four times, along with numerous other races of 50 miles or more. Coach Bill has crossed the finish line of dozens of marathons including the Boston and New York City Marathons twice each. ORGANIZING

Bill Stahl is the race director the Runners Roost Invitational, with 1800+ competitors, one of the four largest cross country meets in the state with over 1800 high school and middle school competitors. Bill also runs i9 Sports, an organization that stages youth flag football, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, t-ball, and cheerleading programs.

Cross country season is over - does your high school runner need coaching to get him or her prepared for the track season? I have 35 years of experience helping athletes achieve their best results through a combination of training, nutrition, and positive thinking. I also emphasize weight training, hip and glute strength, and core training to stay strong and injury-free. I have coached state champions, state record-holders, and have had athletes run for colleges like CSU, Wyoming, Western State, Minnesota State, Portland State, Alaska-Fairbanks, and more. Whether it's to become a state champion, run a PR, get a college athletic opportunity, or to improve, I can help him or her achieve their goal! My favorite athletes to work with are distance runners, hurdlers, and high jumpers. Please IM me if I can help your high school athlete be their best this coming track season!

I'm a big believer in the work Becky does to get you back to playing the sports you want to play. Also, Christa in her office has helped me tremendously with my flexibility and joint mobility with her Thai massages. I highly recommend you give them a try if you've got issues holding you back from performing your best!
