⨠Annette ⨠â¨
Showing up for yourself can have a major upside! We have known Annette for years, and are so proud of the journey that she is taking. If you do not follow her nutrition page now, make sure that you get there! Letâs hear her transformation story in her own words:
Before Burn, I wasnât new to working out. Iâd spent years in gyms doing cardio, kickboxing, Pilatesâyou name it. I thought I had tried everything, but looking back, I was mostly trying different versions of the same thing. I wasnât lifting heavy with intention or fueling my body to support the work I was asking it to do.
Something I rarely talk about is that I spent all of my 20s and early 30s in an abusive relationship. That may not sound related to fitness, but it shaped how I saw myself and left me believing I was capable of very little. My confidence was basically nonexistent. After my first Burn camp, I remember thinking âif I just stick with this I will change my lifeâ.  Training was only 1 piece of the puzzle. When I realized that food was fuelânot something to be restricted âeverything clicked. I felt so much freedom and thatâs when I finally saw the results I had worked so hard for.
Burn became about more than changing my body; it began changing my mind. I was proving to myself I was stronger and more capable than I ever believed. It gave me a sense of confidence I hadnât felt in years, which had a complete ripple effect in every other aspect of my life. This journey has led me to become a certified nutritionist and personal trainer, to create Nettieâs Nutrition where I have the privilege of coaching other women through their transformations, and to develop a cookbook that makes fueling your body realistic and enjoyable. My goal is to teach other woman the control they can have in their lives by trying something different- for their body and for their mind.
