“Fall Into Fitness” 🍂
We’ve all either said of heard it before. Catchy. Perfect for this time of year. Here’s the truth though…we don’t just “fall” into fitness without these two things:
Discipline & Consistency.
The results you see will highly depend your discipline in life. Consistency is the key to success.
Discipline is action. It’s not just feeling motivated, it’s getting out there and doing it. Motivation can be fleeting. Your circumstances may heighten your motivation (sunny weather, good nights sleep) or it may decrease your motivation (rainy weather, busy schedule). When you make a commitment to yourself and follow through, that’s discipline. So how can we learn to get up, get it done & stick to it?!
Here’s 3 simple steps to building self-discipline:
• Master your “why”…the reasons behind why you’ve set your personal goals. While motivation may come and go, mastering your why will get you through those days and create that discipline. ♥️
• Eliminate excuses…excuses can get in the way of us truly reaching our best potential. To help us eliminate those excuses try: getting an early jump on your day, planning your day (failing to plan is planning to fail) and schedule your workouts! Think of your training as an important meeting with your boss- you wouldn’t cancel on your boss! 👊🏻
• Be realistic…we are all incredibly busy and it can be difficult to make time for ourselves. That’s why it’s important to be realistic about the time we have to dedicate to training. On super busy days a 30 minute walk or lifting at lunch is always better than not moving at all. Give yourself some grace 💗
Discipline takes time & does not mean you are perfect, so when getting off track it’s not the end of the world. Self-discipline means embracing the growth mindset, allowing for mistakes yet learning From them and taking the time to improve, rather than expecting perfection. 🤟🏻
