🎾 Introducing: Beginner Tennis Boot Camp 🎾

Ready to pick up a racket and have some fun?

This is the perfect way to learn the fundamentals of tennis in a welcoming, supportive environment - no experience necessary!

Whether you’ve never picked up a racket or just want to refresh your skills, you’ll build real confidence while learning:

✅ Proper grip & stroke technique
✅ Forehand, backhand & serve fundamentals
✅ Footwork & court movement
✅ Scoring & basic rules of the game
✅ Fun drills & friendly point play

Our experienced coaches focus on making learning enjoyable while helping you improve at your own pace.

Just bring your enthusiasm, comfortable athletic shoes, and get ready to have fun!

📋 Must be level 2.0-2.5 or complete beginner
📅 Thursdays, 1:00-2:30PM
👨‍🏫 With Coaches Will M. and Ben
💰 $1,360 for the 16-week program

Your toss might be giving away your serve before you even hit the ball! 🎾

When you’re first learning different serves, exaggerating the toss location can actually help you understand the feel of each one.

For example:

🎾 Kick serve — typically more over your head / slightly to the left for a right-handed player

🎾 Flat serve — generally more out in front

🎾 Slice serve — often slightly farther to the right

The benefit? It becomes easier to learn the different swing paths and spin.

The downside? If every serve has an obviously different toss, a good returner can start reading what’s coming.

As you improve, try making the differences in your toss more subtle while still giving yourself the position you need to execute each serve comfortably.

The goal isn’t one identical toss every time — it’s a consistent motion that doesn’t make your serve easy to predict.

Getting jammed on your forehand? Your spare arm could be the reason. 🎾

Your non-dominant arm helps you create space, stay balanced, and rotate better through the shot.

Keep it extended during your preparation to help:

• Judge your distance from the ball
• Avoid getting too close
• Improve shoulder rotation
• Stay balanced through contact

Then let it move naturally as your body rotates through the swing.

Small adjustment. Cleaner forehand. 🎾

And just like that… WTC Summer Program 2026 is officially in the books! 🎾☀️

What a summer it’s been. Watching these kids run, laugh, compete and grow together on our courts has been nothing short of amazing - every single day here was special 💙

To every kid who showed up ready to play, every coach who poured their heart into these lessons, and every parent who trusted us with your child’s summer - thank you 🙌

The courts might be a little quieter for now, but we’re already looking ahead to Fall Season at Westport Tennis Club! Time to keep that momentum going 🍂🎾

We’ll see you all again next summer!

Summer is still going strong at Westport Tennis Club! 🎾☀️

Another great week of our Summer Program is underway, with plenty of tennis, games, learning, and fun happening on the courts.

With school right around the corner, we’re enjoying every last bit of summer, and we still have one last Summer Program session coming up next week!

And as summer winds down, our adult programs and clinics will be getting back into full swing for the fall season. 🎾

There’s plenty more tennis ahead at WTC. 💙
