This is one of my reasons right here for getting myself back together.. I wanted to be a good example for my daughter. I want her to look at me and see what hard work, dedication and commitment can do. And most importantly, I want to encourage her to do the same and much more. @ Connecticut

YOURSELF

I use to be a person that put myself and my needs behind others...

After going through my transformation—10 months of true 💯 commitment to myself and pretty much shutting out just about everything and everyone around me—I started to feel a guilt. Venting to a friend about it, he said to me...

If you’re ever on an plane where the oxygen masks drops...you’re instructed by the flight attendants to place your mask on first before helping others. You shouldn’t feel guilty for making yourself a priority. You need to take care of YOURSELF first in order to be able to take care of others.

It was right then and there I realized, subconsciously, that’s what I did. I was at a stage in my life where my “plane” was having issues and I had to put on my oxygen mask.

Having a huge weight lifted off my back, I thanked my friend and expressed how much I owed him. He told me, “you don’t owe me anything, just pay it forward and help others.”

It’s amazing what YOU are capable of.

Like a flip of a switch.
I still remember that feeling I had; going through old photos on the computer—has it really been 10 years?! 10 years that I’ve looked like this—realizing how long I had been overweight (reaching slightly shy of 300lbs), I was stunned to say the least.
That very moment EVERYTHING changed.

The worst part of my transformation was that I was in a really bad place mentally—never diagnosed medically as depressed, it sure felt at some point that I was—that everything around me was or already had fallen apart. I was very unhappy ...unhappy with myself and in many aspects of my life.

Maybe that’s why, looking back now, it seemed so easy to be committed.. so easy to be consistent with my food and workouts.. bc I was SO FOCUSED on needing change.
And things did start to change—10 months had gone by—I was eating extremely clean with no cheats and I rarely missed a day of working out. My weight dropped and dropped fast, before I knew it I was down 100lbs. But I still wasn’t happy.
