Westport Island Shore Run 10K

We had great weather for the 21st Annual Westport Island Shore Run 10K Road Race, which took place on Sunday, August 16, 2026 on bridge-accessible Westport Island, Maine. There were sunny skies and cool temperatures for the annual running of "Maine's Best Little 10K Road Race" that benefitted the Westport Island Volunteer Fire Department, whose members directed traffic and provided logistical and medical support at the race again this year. To date, over the past 20 years, the race has raised almost $40,000 for the Westport Island firefighters! In addition to the 10K road race, there was a well attended 3.5 mile "fun walk."

Great weather is forecast for the 21st Annual Westport Island Shore Run 10K Road Race, which takes place this coming weekend on Sunday, August 16, 2026 on bridge-accessible Westport Island, Maine. Sunny skies and cool temperatures are in store for the 21st anniversary running of "Maine's Best Little 10K Road Race" that will again benefit the Westport Island Volunteer Fire Department, whose members direct traffic and provide logistical and medical support at the race. Race starts at 9am; the "Fun Walk" starts at 8:30am.

The 21st Annual Westport Island Shore Run 10K road race and fun walk takes place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, beginning at 9:00am., on bridge-accessible Westport Island, Maine. In this exciting race, you will run on a USATF-certified course through scenic pine and fir tree forests and over two bridges spanning inlets to Heal Cove and Montsweag Bay. The Damariscotta, Maine Lincoln County News has called the Westport Island Shore Run a "beautiful course," and a "very exciting run."

Come run in Maine's best little 10K race! All proceeds after expenses will benefit the brave firefighters of the Westport Island Volunteer Fire Department. Over the past 20 years, the race has donated over $37,000 to the firefighters! To register for the race and for more information, go to:
