The end of the semester completely flew by and we are excited to post some fantastic moments from the past month. Without a doubt, one of the most special has been the graduation of our seniors Kailey Young, Samantha Fadel, and Emily Osborne. To say we are proud is an understatement. The future is so bright for these 3 and we will miss them immensely. Welcome to alumni life KY, SF, and EO 💛 💚

We are excited to announce our first years for the Fall 2026 season! Cassidy Oakes is from Wilmington, DE. She attended The John Dickinson School and played for Brandywine Volleyball Club.

Why did you choose McDaniel?
“I chose McDaniel College because from the moment I stepped on campus, it felt like home. My dad went there, so there’s a family connection that makes it even more special, and I fell in love with how beautiful and welcoming the campus is. The views from the dorm windows, the smell of nature in the air, and the homey atmosphere all made it feel like a place I could truly belong. On top of that, the strong sense of community and the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love made McDaniel feel like the perfect fit.”

What are you most excited about?
“I’m most excited to become part of the volleyball program and compete at the next level while being surrounded by such a supportive community. I can’t wait to build close friendships with my teammates, make lasting memories on and off the court, and spend the next four years on a campus that already feels like home to me.”

Coach Jenn on Cassidy:
“What’s great about Cassidy is that since her dad’s an alum, she grew up loving the school first, and getting to play volleyball was the additional bonus. Cassidy can play any position I love her willingness to try new things. She cares deeply about the success of the team and is going to work incredibly hard. Cassidy will bring a wealth of skills and has a bright future at McDaniel!”

We are excited to announce our first years for the Fall 2026 season! Annika Cortez is from Aldie, VA. She attended Lightridge High School and played for Virginia Volleyball Academy.

Why did you choose McDaniel?
“For me, the moment I stepped onto campus, I immediately fell in love with all the green. The flowers just made it feel so at home. I love that McDaniel is a liberal arts school because it will give me the chance to take the world into my hands and pick any career I want to have in the future. The girls on the team made me feel so included and loved right off the bat. It made me feel so special and makes me so excited to continue my not only academic career, but also my athletic career at McDaniel.”

What are you most excited about?
“Something that excites me the most is that McDaniel is very big on school spirt and I love that I get the chance to be a part of that. Whether it’s cheering on other teams or playing volleyball or even tailgating at football games, all of it makes me so excited. I am also excited to meet new people, make new life long friendships, finish my major successfully, and move into the real world. I believe McDaniel will help me obtain all my goals.”

Coach Jenn on Annika:
“Annika isn’t afraid to truly be herself. She is very goal-oriented, constantly looking for ways to improve, and doesn’t back down from a challenge. She’s also a great beach volleyball player, making her a strong presence both offensively and defensively. I also very much respect the coaching staff at Virginia Volleyball Academy, and have the utmost confidence that they’ve prepared her to be a great asset for our team.”

We are excited to announce our first years for the Fall 2026 season! Arrian Spratt is from San Antonio, TX. She attended John Marshall High School and played for South Texas Volleyball Academy.

Why did you choose McDaniel?
“What first caught my eye was the campus, as you could tell it was cared for and meant to be a place of comfort for students. But, what truly pulled me to choose McDaniel was the community. The girls on the volleyball team were so welcoming and it felt like I was with people I had known forever despite only being with them for a short amount of time. This was a huge factor and something I would ask about every college during the recruitment process. Seeing the team chemistry in person really locked in my choice especially because I will be far from home and wanted to be surrounded by people that would make it feel as if I never left.”

What are you most excited about?
“I am excited about experiencing the true four seasons, especially because I never got to experience true snow. I am most excited to continue my volleyball and track careers into college. I can’t wait to explore my options for the future and make lifelong memories at McDaniel.”

Coach Jenn on Arrian:
“Arrian is the type of person and athlete you know will work hard. She has an amazing vertical and will be a dual-sport athlete at McDaniel, also pursuing an athletic career on our Track and Field team. Our players all felt like Arrian was meant to be with us. She is a firecracker on the court and fills every room with spectacular energy. We are so excited about Arrian and having another Texan on the team!”

We are excited to announce our first years for the Fall 2026 season! Madison (Maddie) Myers is from Virginia Beach, VA. She attended Kempsville High School and played for East Coast Volleyball Club.

Why did you choose McDaniel?
“From the moment I stepped onto the McDaniel College campus, I knew it was the place for me. I fell in love instantly – from the beautiful grounds to the welcoming staff and students I met along the way. I was also drawn to McDaniel’s size and the perfect balance of being far enough from home to grow, but not too far to feel disconnected.”

What are you most excited about?
“I’m most excited for the chance to branch out on my own, experience new things, and (most importantly) join the Green Terror Volleyball Team! I’ve already met some of the other players in my Class and I can’t wait to get to know them even better!”

Coach Jenn on Maddie:
“Maddie brings an immense amount of experience in the DS position. She began playing travel volleyball when she was 10, and it shows in her overall ball control abilities and knowledge of the game. Maddie is an incredibly kind person, and as a player, she is fierce and brings a sense of order and calmness to the court. We can’t wait to have Maddie at McDaniel!”

We are excited to announce our first years for the Fall 2026 season! Hayden Haynes is from Severn, MD. She attended Severn Run High School and played for Annapolis Volleyball Club.

Why did you choose McDaniel?
“For me, McDaniel was the perfect blend of academics and NCAA volleyball. I wanted to continue both with having a sense of balance for my other interests! Plus, my recruiting visit stood out amongst all the others. I immediately felt a sense of family and sisterhood with the team.”

What are you most excited about?
“I’m most excited about contributing to the volleyball program and achieving all the new academic and athletic goals I have set for myself. I also look forward to making lifelong memories at McDaniel!”

Coach Jenn on Hayden:
“Our team fell in love with Hayden the second she stepped on campus. Hayden comes from an extremely athletic and sports-loving family, and has the potential to play any front row position. Her positivity and competitive attitude are going to greatly enhance our team and culture. We are thrilled to bring Hayden on board!”
