🚨Evacuation orders have officially been lifted and we’re grateful to share that Grampa’s Boxing Gym will reopen Wednesday 5/27 from 3PM–8PM with limited classes available. 🙏🏼

Thank you to all first responders, OCFA, emergency crews, our members, and the entire community for your patience, support, and understanding through this situation.

The safety and health of our fighters, kids, coaches, and members will always come first. We will continue following all guidelines and keeping everyone updated as needed.

Please keep in mind:
• Western Ave remains closed between Chapman & Garden Grove Blvd
• Our gym is located between Beach & Western, so please plan your route accordingly.

🚨 Due to the ongoing Garden Grove chemical leak incident, updated evacuation zone, and surrounding road closures near Garden Grove Blvd & Beach Blvd, Grampa’s Boxing Gym will REMAIN TEMPORARILY CLOSED Wednesday 5/27 out of caution for our members, fighters, kids, coaches, and staff.

We will continue monitoring updates from OCFA and local authorities day by day and will reopen once we feel it is safe to do so.

We understand everyone’s situation is different. We will work with members individually regarding memberships, credits, and any concerns during this time. Please DM us directly if needed. 🤍🙏🏼

🚨After closely following updates from OC Fire Authority and local officials, Grampa’s Boxing Gym will remain temporarily CLOSED until our area officially receives the all-clear.

While the major explosion risk has reportedly gone down, officials have stated the damaged tank still poses concerns and evacuations remain in place for now. The chemical involved can affect breathing, eyes, throat, and skin — which is obviously something we take very seriously, especially with our fighters, kids, members, and coaches training hard every day.

We know many of our members, families, clients, and surrounding neighborhoods have been directly impacted by the evacuation orders and uncertainty these last few days. Please know we are praying for everyone affected and incredibly grateful for the firefighters, police officers, medical staff, and emergency crews working tirelessly around the clock to keep our communities safe. 🙏🏼

At Grampa’s, community is family. We would rather be overly cautious than risk anybody’s safety.

As of now, we are hoping to return after Memorial Day weekend pending official clearance and updated guidance from authorities. We will continue keeping everyone updated as more information becomes available. 🤍

🚨🙏🏼 Our hearts are with all of the families, businesses, first responders, and community members impacted by the Garden Grove chemical emergency and mandatory evacuations affecting parts of Garden Grove, Stanton, and Westminster.

We are praying for protection over every displaced family, safety for all firefighters, police officers, medical staff, and emergency crews working tirelessly through the night, and peace during such an uncertain time.

Please continue following updates from local authorities and checking in on your loved ones, neighbors, and anyone who may need support.

10 years ago today, we lost the man who inspired it all. 🤍

Grampa’s Boxing Gym was built to honor the legacy of Rene Rangel — his work ethic, strength, love for family, and the way he showed up for people every single day.

Not a day goes by that his presence isn’t felt inside these walls. Every fighter, every training session, every event, and every life impacted through this gym is a reflection of him.

10 years later and your name still carries purpose, impact, and love. We miss you deeply, Grampa. Thank you for continuing to guide us from above. 🕊️🥊

🥊 CALLING ALL AMATEUR BOXERS 🥊

We are still looking for boxers interested in participating in a PRIVATE USA Boxing sanctioned event on  Thursday June 11th in Costa Mesa, CA.

📍 Mesa Verde Country Club
⏰ Weigh ins at 4pm Bouts start 6pm
🏆 Championship belts awarded

This is an invitation-only boxing event held inside the ballroom at Mesa Verde Country Club.

✔️ Weigh-ins & bouts will both take place in the ballroom
✔️ Boxed meals provided post weigh-in (or you may bring your own lunch)
✔️ ONLY amateur boxers + 3 coaches permitted at event (no family or friends)

We currently need 3 more bouts to complete the card.

🚨 Physicals and passbooks for both boxers and coaches MUST be current and up to date.
