This weekend's softball tournament was a weekend to remember, marking a second consecutive week of excellence with a 6-1 record and a runner-up finish. Our will to win was on full display, particularly in the semifinals, where a remarkable comeback from an 8-4 deficit with six minutes left not only electrified all of us parents but also set the stage for a thrilling conclusion, tying the score at 8-8 and pushing the game into extra innings. With a runner placed on second base according to international rules, we continued to push forward. The final inning unfolded with breathtaking blast, as Taylor Frank's walk-off home run, with two outs and runners on first and second base, flipped a 9-8 deficit into an 11-9 victory, scoring three runs and cementing an unforgettable win. Though the team fell just short of the championship title in the Finals, their unwavering perseverance and determination were testaments to their strength, especially given the demanding schedule of back-to-back-to-back games with minimal breaks.

We're back!!! This weekend, we played in our first tournament, Rock N Rumble, finishing as finalists with a 4-1-1 record. Bella Leiter led the way with a .571 batting average, eight hits, seven RBIs, and five runs scored. Emily Meiller hit 2 HRs, including one that came late in the game while collecting 8 RBI’s. Both Riley McGrath and Leah Palomo collected a HR and six hits each. Although we didn’t come home with the championship, the girls held their own after only having two practices together since January. This is going to be an awesome season, and we can’t wait to get out there and cheer our girls on.

Remarkable night for Team Schultz as they participated in their first tournament of the 2026 season, concluding with an impressive 3-0 record and claiming the championship. Game 1 started off the night with a 6-0 victory with a No-hitter thrown by Sarah Vadden. Game 2 ended up being a nail-biting 4-3 win capped off with a walk-off victory in the bottom of the 5th inning with 2 outs. The championship game demanded significant grit and determination from the team, particularly given the late hour of 2 am when fatigue began to set in. Nonetheless, their tenacity and perseverance paid off, resulting in a 4-2 win and securing the championship title.

The 2025 Fall season concluded on a high note Sunday, with a second-place finish that underscored the team's unbreakable spirit. Despite the narrow 1-0 loss, Team Schultz's resilience and determination shone through. This Fall, the team participated in six tournaments, securing four championships and finishing as finalists in their last event, demonstrating their relentless pursuit of excellence. With an impressive overall record of 26-6-2, Team Schultz proved themselves a formidable opponent. In the face of adversity, including numerous injuries, the team's perseverance remained unwavering. Taylor Frank and Kyleigh Schulz delivered outstanding pitching performances, combining for 125.3 innings pitched, 144 strikeouts, and just 37 walks. On the offensive side, Team Schultz excelled with a remarkable .418 average, accumulating 299 hits, 225 singles, 39 doubles, 25 triples, and 15 home runs, outscoring their opponents 294-88. With the break and winter workouts coming up, and high school softball just around the corner, let's hope Team Schultz can carry on their success into the spring and summer. Until then,.

Team Schultz would like to extend their congratulations to these three players for their outstanding performance during the Halloween Scream tournament. Offensive Player goes to Sarah Vadden: Sarah delivered a notable performance on Sunday, going 6-7 with 6 RBIs. Throughout the weekend, Sarah demonstrated exceptional skill, going 11-14 batting .786 with 10 RBIs. Defensive Player goes to Emily Meiller: Emily is an exemplary leader behind the plate, consistently calling an outstanding game for our battery of pitchers. On Sunday, Emily showcased her exceptional defensive prowess, with a throw out at second on an overthrow, a pick-off at third, and making several impressive catches on pop-ups in foul territory.
Comeback player goes to Taylor Frank: Taylor battled all weekend at the plate, making good contact but falling short of that big hit and wanting more. However, in the finals Taylor unleashed with not just one but two home runs, first a grand slam and second a solo home run to ultimately put the game away with a 13-3 victory. Taylor finished the weekend going 6 for 15 batting .400 and 10 RBIs with a HR on Saturday also.

Team Schultz has achieved another remarkable victory, securing their third consecutive championship title and the fourth out of five this Fall season. It is truly impressive to witness the energy among these talented young ladies. When one team member is struggling, another steps up. This past weekend, the team demonstrated exceptional resilience, battling from behind in nearly every game. Once they gain momentum and their batting comes alive, the runs accumulate rapidly, and their losing becomes virtually impossible.
