Today was Becca’s first CrossFit class after completing On Ramp and she did AWESOME!
Becca had never stepped foot into a gym until she came to CrossFit SPT, and we are HONORED that she trusted us and gave it a shot!

Jack and Oscar finished in 7th place, and Dennis and Jason finished on the podium in 2nd place!!

This is one of our FAVORITE get togethers with our crew!

Monday, May 30th there will be NO CLASSES, just heat times!
Gym will be open at 6:30am.
•1st heat starts at 7am and last heat starts at 10am.
•New heat starts every 30 minutes.
•10 athletes per heat.
•Athletes are required to sign up via Zen Planner. If you are bringing a friend please shoot us a message and we are happy to get them signed up in a heat!
•Athletes will be responsible to warm up and be ready by their heat time. Need some help? Ask a coach!
•We will be performing Murph as it was originally written, and will not be partitioning the middle reps.

This woman has been getting an Rx+ by her name on the whiteboard every day!

We love Ashlee so much!! The coaches and her classmates have been IMPRESSED with how consistent she has remained getting into the gym throughout her pregnancy. Just when you think you’re “too tired” to workout, just think about this amazing woman!

Ashlee has the sweetest smile, and most loving personality. We are so blessed to have her in the SPT family!

We asked her a few questions to get to know her more!

1. What are your favorite CrossFit movements?
My favorite CrossFit movements are back squats, deadlifts, and hang cleans.
2. How long have you been doing CrossFit and what has made you stay with it?
I first started CrossFit back in 2014 and attended classes off and on over the years. I joined CrossFit SPT in November 2020 and made the commitment to myself to attend classes regularly each week. I love the CrossFit SPT Community! ❤️
3.If you had one thing to say to someone who wasn’t sure about starting CrossFit, what would it be?
Just try it! I promise you won’t regret it! The movements and workouts can be modified to fit any skill level. Once you start you will be amazed at how great you feel! I am so glad that I have made Crossfit a personal fitness priority!

Olympic lifting clinic=total success!

Thank you to our SPT crew for spending your afternoon learning from one of our favorite coaches, Chris Lofland. We appreciate you trusting us and coming in open minded and willing to learn from Chris! Thank you, Chris, for investing in our people in such a high-quality manner. 💫 Member Spotlight 💫

All of the coaches agree…we love how focused and willing to learn Dennis is when it’s time to work, but when the work is done, he is a total goofball making us literally laugh out loud! He is the perfect example of work hard, play hard!

Dennis loves a good chest-day but is committed to being the most well-rounded athlete he can be. In fact, he works overtime on his gymnastics movements and has even achieved his bar muscle up! He is currently working on handstand walks and ring muscle ups…he really has no limits to his goals.

We asked Dennis some questions to help us get to know him a bit more:�•What are your favorite movements?�Rowing, wall balls, and anything involving pressing overhead.
•What is something you have accomplished in CrossFit that really surprised you?�Learning the bar muscle up was a big accomplishment for me. It was a movement that I really wanted to learn, but knew I had a long way to go. I was finally able to string 2 together, too! Another accomplishment was participating in (and winning) my first CrossFit competition in my first year.
•If you had one thing to say to someone who wasn’t sure about starting CrossFit, what would it be?
I was intimidated to start CrossFit. I can honestly say it’s one of the best fitness decisions I’ve ever made. The coaches are amazing, and you really get to form a bond with the people you work out with daily. While it can be somewhat overwhelming in the beginning with learning new movements, coaches are there to walk you thru every step along the way. If you’ve ever considered starting CrossFit, I say do it! You’ll be amazed at what your body can do in a very short period of time!

💙 Welcoming Our New Coach: Lauren!
We are ecstatic to have this woman join our coaching staff. Lauren is extremely hardworking in and outside of the gym, passionate about health and wellness, and loves spreading her love of CrossFit.

Here is a little about her!

Hi! I’m Lauren, one of the coaches at CrossFit SPT. I started CrossFit in 2017 while I lived in Hong Kong before moving to Texas in 2021. Prior to moving to Hong Kong in 2011, I was a pediatrician in Southern California and have a huge passion for wellness and fitness in both adults and children. While in Hong Kong, I also trained extensively in conscious and guidance parenting and currently work as a parenting coach. I have four incredible children…twins, Jack and Luke, Sean, and Kate.

I never excelled in athletics or had a passion for any sports when I was growing up. I began running recreationally in my early 20s, completing a couple of marathons and half-marathons. While in Hong Kong, I also trained in Muay Thai for a couple of years. However, once I finally discovered CrossFit at 40 years old, I was completely hooked!! For someone who never felt confident with anything athletic, CrossFit has given me the opportunity to discover physical and mental capabilities I never thought I had, and I could be pushed beyond anything I imagined. I love challenging myself to hit goals each year, and I am so grateful for the support and encouragement of the CrossFit community.

I obtained both my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate and my CrossFit Kids Certificate in 2021 and began coaching soon after. I absolutely love coaching and am excited to help people at CrossFit SPT achieve their fitness and wellness goals. I am also looking forward to bringing CrossFit to both kids and teens.
