What a fun way to start the morning! ❤️🏒

So grateful to Mix 104.1’s Good Vibe Tribe and Karson & Kennedy for giving us the opportunity to share the story of the Northeast Intercounty Scholastic Hockey League (NISHL) and why this league means so much to so many girls.

What started with one girl recognizing a gap in girls’ hockey has grown into a community where players are seen, heard, valued, and chosen.

We are incredibly grateful to Hockey Night in Boston for sharing the story of NISHL and how one girl’s idea at 16 years old has grown into something so much bigger. ❤️🏒

The headline says it perfectly: “From HNIB Player to League Founder.”

Delilah began participating in the HNIB Girls Major Showcase as a freshman. Along the way, she realized how many girls she knew did not have a girls high school hockey team, a JV option, or simply a place where they felt they belonged in the game.

That realization became the beginning of NISHL.

What started in 2024 with 3 teams has continued to grow, giving girls in grades 7 through 12 the opportunity to play scholastic hockey, develop as athletes, represent their communities, and most importantly, be part of a team.

This year, six NISHL players were selected to compete in the 2026 HNIB Girls Major Showcase, which makes this story feel especially full circle. ❤️

We are also incredibly proud that NISHL has received support from the Boston Bruins Foundation, Boston Fleet, Wasabi Technologies and Nicolopoulos Plumbing and Heating, Inc and that this fall our league’s story will become part of a permanent exhibit at The Sports Museum

There is still so much work to do, but moments like this remind us why we started.

Every girl deserves a place to play.

Every girl deserves to feel seen, heard, valued and chosen.

Another fan favorite in the league! Thank you Nicole for supporting NISHL!!!

From the moment we met Lila, we knew she was going to do big things within the league. Lila works incredibly hard to become the best skater and person she can be and she does this not with words but with actions.

Lila is a caring, supportive teammate and one of the kindest and funniest members of NISHL. She serves as the Assistant Chair of NISHL’s Community Impact Committee, where she is always willing to step up, help others and make a difference.

Lilah is one of the youngest players in the league and one of the most admired as she consistently leads by example, is always willing to lend a an ear or a hand and is happiest when she is helping others.

We are so excited that Lila will be part of the NISHL family for many years to come. She represents everything our league stands for, and we are looking forward to watching Lila continue to grow both on and off the ice.

When I was 16, NISHL began as an idea to make sure girls who did not have a school hockey team, or did not feel supported by the team available to them, still had a place where they could play, grow and feel like they belonged.

That idea has grown into a league filled with incredible players, coaches, families and supporters. As my parents and I prepare for next season, we are holding a raffle fundraiser to help cover the rising cost of ice and the many other expenses involved in giving every girl the opportunity to play.

Our minimum league goal is $15,000 and we have raised more than $1,600 in the first 24 hours! Thank you, Auntie Jenn, Uncle Christopher and Uncle Jonathan for already purchasing tickets.

I would be so grateful if you would consider purchasing a raffle ticket, sharing my link, or helping us spread the word. Every ticket sold directly supports the future of NISHL and helps us continue creating a place where every player feels seen, heard, valued and chosen.
