Calling on the APEX family! We're going to have an activities planning meeting Friday 8/14 6pm - 7ish to brainstorm activities for the upcoming funtivity family picnic in September.

If you're a teen/adult with ideas please join us and help get the fun ideas rolling. If you can't make it but want to give ideas, leave a note with one of the adult instructors and we'll add your ideas to the storm for consideration and planning!

In 1988, after having made a decision to not pursue running track in college, I then made a decision to explore my passion for the martial arts. I was turning 19 in 1988. It would not be until 2010 that I would actually reach the rank of black belt…I was 41. Well, by the grace of God, last night, 26 years later, I was promoted to my 5th degree black belt!

So very thankful to God for my family…my wife…my children…for their support through the years…

Also, so very thankful for my instructors and my Apex Martial Family…giving God thanks and praise for them all!!

A funny thing happened about 28 years ago, I started taking Taekwondo lessons with my son Tony. Last night I was honored to be promoted to 7th Dan, Chief Master Instructor along with my dear friend Darrin Townsend. Funny only because I never intended to do anything more than spend time together doing something with him. I think that may be called a “God Wink” because it turned out to be one of the most significant things I’ve ever done.

A special night for Apex Martial arts, Promoted to Chief Master Instructors 7th Dan, co- founders of Apex Martial Arts, Darren Townsend and Andy Piteo. Thank you to Grandmasters Robert Dunn and Louis Radicionni for all the leadership, support and especially your friendship. It is a privilege to be associated with you and am most grateful to be a part of the JTF and its mission.

FYI APEX Family!

Another year - Another Crop of Black Belt testers!

Test Rehearsal/Practice Thursday May 28th, 2026, 6-8pm
(attendance required; uniform not required)

Test May 30th, 2026, 9am-12pm
(testers arrive no later than 8:30am; WHITE uniform required)

Friends and family (looking at YOU too APEX students) are invited to the test to celebrate 12 - 1st gups to 1st Dan, 2 - 1st Dans to 2nd Dan, 2 - 2nd Dans to 3rd Dan, and 2 - 3rd Dans to 4th Dan MASTER!!!!

Flyers with test location address will be available in the school.
