2026 Ohio State Meet 🏋️‍♂️

So much to be proud of from this weekend. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible and to all the people who showed up to support the weightlifting community.

CWL had a great showing across the board — from first-time competitors, to our incredible Masters athletes, and everyone in between. Every athlete stepped onto the platform and represented Columbus Weightlifting with pride.

Meets like this are a reminder of why we keep showing up. Why we push through the tough training cycles, work through the aches and setbacks, and keep moving forward even when progress feels slow.

Days like this make all of that work worth it.

Another meet in the books.

Yesterday, Columbus Weightlifting had the opportunity to compete at the Lifts for Wigs meet hosted by great_oaks_weightlifting. It was an incredible day of PRs, grit, and teammates cheering each other on from first attempt to last.

We’re proud of everyone who stepped on the platform, pushed through challenges, and represented our club so well. Success isn’t just measured by the numbers on the bar—it’s showing up, giving your best, and supporting the people around you. This team did exactly that.

Congratulations to all of our lifters, and thank you to everyone who volunteered, judged, coached, and cheered. We can’t wait for the next one!

Danielle OWNED the Little Chicken Award!!

The Little Chicken Award is all in good fun—but it comes with a message. It gets passed to a lifter when we know they’ve got the lift in them… but they hesitate, back off, or “chicken out” at the last second.

It’s not about calling anyone out—it’s about calling them up. Everyone in the gym knows what that moment feels like, when your body can do it but your mind isn’t quite there yet. This award is our way of turning that moment into something positive.

It’s meant to get a laugh, lighten the mood, and remind the lifter (and everyone watching) that they’re capable of more.
