It’s always a great day at the Long Island Marathon and Half Marathon, and a few of the Crew took on both distances as their Spring racing continues to heat up.

After a huge win at the Kings Park 15K in March, Ryan Scrudato does it again and gets that W with a very patient and tactical race approach in the half marathon. Never the one to shy from a challenge, Ryan closed in on his competition and made his move around the halfway mark, getting stronger with each mile all the way into the park where that tape was waiting for him. Another big win in an already impressive 2025 for our guy.

Kevin was also running the half, fresh off of his 2:53 at the Boston Marathon, taking in the event and crowds, as he starts his training for the Sydney Marathon. The pressure was off and Kev had a great day enjoying his race.

On the marathon side of the day, two LRC women roll the dice just 13 days after their Boston Marathon performances. 13 didn’t even need to provide any luck as both women were still in tremendous shape going into Sunday’s race.

After winning the LI Marathon last year, Cristin returned and looked fresh from start to finish, grabbing 2nd overall in a fast women’s field. If she’s on that starting line, she’s there to race, and she did just that, emptying the tank for one of her best marathons yet made even more impressive by her quick recovery turnaround from Boston.

Maggie ran a PR at the LI Marathon last year, and she does it again, this time shaving 5 minutes off of last year’s time! Maggie had a great Boston but she wanted more. She went all in at LI, and we’re all glad that she did. An excellent string of races to start the year, with her LI Marathon outcome being the exclamation point on an already incredible year for Maggie.

Way to rep and leave it all out there, Crew!
Congratulations to you all!
I have a feeling that we’ll be back again next year…

Tremendous day for LRC at the Icebreaker Half Marathon & Marathon! The men were going for it and we knew early on that they were all gonna have great outcomes. Kevin breaks that tape with a sparkly new PR as his half marathon specific training truly showed how strong he had become with each loop. In control from start to finish, he earned every bit of that PR and WIN! Next in was Scott C. as he follows up his 5K PR from last month with a terrific time as he starts gearing up for his Spring races. Rounding out the Top 10 was Chris as he ran a super steady race as a last minute decision. I’d say that he might the right call as he had an excellent morning. Big things coming up for all three guys this year!

The LRC women showed up and threw down as they placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall on the podium! Cristin was also a last minute add to the race and comes away with the WIN! As sick as a duck doing a kick flip, she kicked off her Boston training with a sweet W, just like she did at this race two years ago. Always the fighter, she battled hard throughout, cheering her teammates on each time as they passed by, and doing it all with a smile.
Maggie was in next, running one of her fastest half times in preparation for her return to the NYC Half and Boston Marathon and Kelly rocks the orange singlet for the first time getting that final spot up there with the women with a solid half marathon result.

Our lone marathoner of the day was Scott S., and even though it was hard to tell if he regretted signing up for the marathon on each loop that we saw him, I’m sure that he was pleased with another strong race time as he crossed the finish. Great work out there, Scott!

Congrats to you all! The ice has been broken and now it’s time to stack upon these performances as we go after those Spring goals 💪🏼

If you like running on parkways, boy do I have a marathon for you!

The Suffolk County Marathon really is a great race, especially if you have favorable weather, and the runners were treated to some cooler temps with hardly any wind last Sunday as they took on 26.2 miles alongside some excellent water views. The perfect day to run fast times or to spectate, and the locals came out to do both. Now, let’s talk about The Crew!

After her win in May at the Long Island Marathon, Cristin continued to chip away at her goal of breaking three hours. On Sunday, she hit that goal, running a 2:59 and getting the WIN once again, putting all of her training to the test, creating a memory that she will never forget. It’s a huge goal to commit to, but there was no doubt that this was going to be her day to hit it. This was a gigantic exclamation point on an already tremendous year for her and we are all incredibly proud of her result. Congratulations, Cristin! You are an incredible athlete.

Tim Lynch decided to give the marathon distance another crack after nearly ten years after his last race in Boston. He forgot how to train for one of these things so he asked, “I run a lot now, so I guess I just run…more?”, and that’s what he did. What he also did was come in 2nd place overall with a new PR of 2:46, and a fresh ticket back to Boston. After racing short distances throughout the Summer, this was a huge transition for Tim, but it was flawless in every possible way.

We don’t call Kevin Tank Sinatra for nothing. He’s gonna grind through any marathon he takes on, and Suffolk was no different. Another fantastic result for our guy that anyone would be proud of, he put together a well earned 3:02 on his first go on this course, capping off a great year full of fast times from the 5K to the marathon distance. Sunday’s race was the perfect bookend to his massive Boston Marathon performance in the Spring. He’s got another Boston lined up next year that we all know is going to be his best yet.

Suffolk Marathon is a perfect Fall race, and we’re happy to be a part of it each year. It’s well run, and we seem to run well, so we’ll keep that streak going. See you all next time!

The Great Cow Harbor 10K.

Easily the most anticipated race on Long Island each year, as we get to test out our Fall fitness against the fastest runners in the country, and leave every last drop of self doubt all along Main Street as we zero in on that finish line.

It was another incredible showing for LRC, with plenty of blazing times and PRs by all Crew members. Almost all are just a few weeks out from their Fall marathons, and their performances yesterday at Cow Harbor clearly show that they’re all going to have tremendous results as they take on 26.2.

Even though everyone had their own individual goals yesterday, the team pushed each other over 10K to pull out those fast miles when the course was really pushing back. We’re a team full of friends, and the teamwork was evident from start to finish.

Already looking forward to next year’s race!

Some call it the Sufferfest, some call it the Sweatfest, but we call the Sayville Summerfest 4 Miler both. Yes, we call it the Suffersweatfest.

As promised, the day was hot, but the competition was hotter, and the Crew took to the streets of Sayville (including Palmer Circle) for a 4 mile throw down.

Ryan Scrudato continued his string of summer 4 milers and gets the WIN on this day, with a tactical approach to each mile along the way. Tim Lynch wraps up an excellent series with another blazing time as he begins his return to the marathon distance later in the Fall. Cristin takes 2nd overall female in the middle of her marathon build, Nancy takes first women’s Masters, Kevin and Joe go 2nd & 3rd Masters and Victor gets the cash from turning in an impressive series full of exceptional results.
It’s always great testing our fitness at the Sayville Summer Series.

Scorching times, Crew! 💪🏼

There’s no better way to kick off your 4th of July weekend than with a race with friends and teammates. Ok, I guess if you’re not into running, there are better ways, but for the Long Run Crew, we had a great bunch show up to the Bellmore Striders’ 4 miler, and light off some explosive times at this fiery race. I think it’s safe to say that we will have another great turnout at next year’s event.

Hope everyone has an explosive weekend!

This year’s LI Marathon weekend is going to be remembered by many LRC as not just one of their best races, but as an amazing team effort with friends, teammates, and family cheering on each of them along the way. The weather turned out to be perfect, and The Crew left it all out there on a day where there were no excuses to be made. Let’s talk marathons!

Just twenty days after her PR at the Boston Marathon, Cristin gets the WIN and runs another huge personal best on her home turf! If you’re gonna go for it again, you gotta go all in and she certainly did, running a tactical race that got her to that finish tape first. That’s four races and four PRs this year as Cristin kicks the year off stronger than ever. Amazing performance, Cristin!

Vic also runs a sweet PR and snags another BQ as he coasted along, making his 2:56 look smooth and manageable each time his team saw him out there on the course. He’s always raising the bar and only getting faster with each race. The day was cloudy, but Vic’s future is hecka bright.

Sam (Top 5 Women) and Maggie both put in some serious work since the winter for this race, and it paid off as both earn a PR & BQ, capping off a tremendous training cycle with a few exclamation points at the end. Both will be running NYC Marathon later this year, but I’m sure they’ll be relishing in their LI results for quite a while. Excellent races, ladies!

Danny and Joe both run their 2nd fastest marathons, results that they’re both extremely proud of, and Chris runs one of his fastest half marathon times on what was such a perfect morning for all of the Crew racing and cheering last weekend. Who knew that you could have such a great time at the LI Marathon?? But we did, and we’re already thinking about next Spring.

We’ll see you out there!

“Those that train together, PR together.”
I just made that up, but it’s true for Maggie & Sean! Early morning accountability leads to success, and they both cashed in on the training with two new half marathon PRs! That’s two straight races and two straight PRs for them, kicking off 2024 strong and looking for more. Congrats to you both!!

The 2024 racing season is underway!

Yesterday’s Run to the Blue Point Brewery 10 Miler kicked off a new year of competition, and The Crew turned up to crank out some fast times at this highly competitive race.

On her way to a new PR, Cristin takes the 1st place Masters spot with a well planned strategy, as she preps for the Boston Marathon in April. Sam rounds out the Women’s Masters category, earning her spot on the podium with a personal best time, as well. Maggie also ran her fastest 10M time on the course, and earns first place in her age group. Sean also snags a fresh PR for himself, running his strongest 10M, as he opens up his year full of PRs. Trust me on this, Sean.

Such a bright start to the year in dreary conditions, but we’re just getting warmed up.
See everyone out there in ‘24!

Turns out that today is FIVE years since the start of Team LRC, and we closed it out with a gorgeous long run and quite the post-run spread to help keep the holiday gluttony streak going. A perfect cap to a tremendous year, celebrating and sharing miles with new and old friends, on one of our favorite routes.

Here’s to the next five years of LRC and we look forward to seeing you out there in ‘24! 🎉

So many great accomplishments this year for LRC, both individually and for the team, and today’s HoHoHo 5K was the star atop the tree for us as we close out the year with a few PRs and another great race to be proud of.

Cristin and Kevin both ran a 5K PR today as they round out a 2023 filled with personal bests in multiple distances. Strong caps today for Vic, Nancy, Sam, Jax & Danny as well, as they can celebrate today’s race just like all of their other successes that they’ve had throughout the year.

January is right around the corner which only means one thing…Spring marathons! We’ll see you out there.

XOXO

That’s a wrap on the Fall Marathon season for LRC! From the Berlin Marathon, to Maine, Chicago, Steamtown, Suffolk, NYC and Philly, The Crew busted ass all summer long to prep for their races with tremendous outcomes.

PRs, BQs and a 6th World Major star are just some of the things to show for their hard work, but the months of commitment and consistency finally paying off at that finish line, was rewarding as ever as they each put an exclamation point on another solid training block.

Way to crush those marathons and look good doing it while reppin’ the LRC! 💪🏼
