It’s always a great day at the Long Island Marathon and Half Marathon, and a few of the Crew took on both distances as their Spring racing continues to heat up.
After a huge win at the Kings Park 15K in March, Ryan Scrudato does it again and gets that W with a very patient and tactical race approach in the half marathon. Never the one to shy from a challenge, Ryan closed in on his competition and made his move around the halfway mark, getting stronger with each mile all the way into the park where that tape was waiting for him. Another big win in an already impressive 2025 for our guy.
Kevin was also running the half, fresh off of his 2:53 at the Boston Marathon, taking in the event and crowds, as he starts his training for the Sydney Marathon. The pressure was off and Kev had a great day enjoying his race.
On the marathon side of the day, two LRC women roll the dice just 13 days after their Boston Marathon performances. 13 didn’t even need to provide any luck as both women were still in tremendous shape going into Sunday’s race.
After winning the LI Marathon last year, Cristin returned and looked fresh from start to finish, grabbing 2nd overall in a fast women’s field. If she’s on that starting line, she’s there to race, and she did just that, emptying the tank for one of her best marathons yet made even more impressive by her quick recovery turnaround from Boston.
Maggie ran a PR at the LI Marathon last year, and she does it again, this time shaving 5 minutes off of last year’s time! Maggie had a great Boston but she wanted more. She went all in at LI, and we’re all glad that she did. An excellent string of races to start the year, with her LI Marathon outcome being the exclamation point on an already incredible year for Maggie.
Way to rep and leave it all out there, Crew!
Congratulations to you all!
I have a feeling that we’ll be back again next year…
