Attention all archers!
We are pleased to announce that after a long, pandemic-induced hiatus, the Hart House Archery Club is back up and running. Because the club has been closed for so long, we need to gauge the number of prior club members who are intending to return to the club this year. For that reason, we are opening the club this Tuesday to returning members ONLY (i.e., you must have been offered a membership before the 2020 hiatus). The club will be open this Tuesday (the 13th) from 4-8 pm to see how many returning members show up. Note that the regular drop-in schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-8 pm will begin later this month, once we have finished Safety Lessons for new members. If you are a returning member intending to come out to the club this year but cannot/do not want to come out this Tuesday, please message us/comment on this post, so we have a rough idea of the number of people coming back this year.
All returning members must check in at the Hart House Information Desk to renew their archery club membership. Please note that while the archery club itself is free this year, you must have either paid tuition (if you are a student) or have purchased a Hart House Clubs Membership (if you are a Staff/Alumni/Community Member) in order to renew your archery club membership.
In the interest of safety, we will be limiting the capacity of the range to 15 people per hour at first, and you will only be allowed to shoot for one hour. If more than 15 people show up in a given time block, you will need to come back an hour later. Note that you do not need to come out at all, we just ask that you give us some indication that you plan to come out this year. Finally, it goes without saying, but if you are sick, please do not come to the club, and simply message us/comment with your interest in coming out later. The range is an extremely small, poorly-ventilated room, so we ask that you stay home if you have any symptoms - if the range officers get sick, the club will be closed while they recover, and this could result in further delays getting the club up and running.
When speaking to the staff at the front desk, be sure to tell them you want to purchase a Clubs Membership - note that the fee for a Clubs Membership changes based on your status (e.g., Alumni, Staff, Community Member). You DO NOT need to purchase a Fitness Centre membership, as archery falls under the purview of the Clubs Membership. Please note that the fees are set by Hart House and not the archery club, and we have no say in how much the fees are.
Finally, for those who signed up to become new members - we will be sending around information to those who were at the top of the waitlist shortly, and will include information about how to activate your new membership at that time. For this upcoming Tuesday, the club is open to returning members only - once we see how busy the range is, we will decide how many new members to recruit.
