Now that we are Grandparents, and DHO Ltd had been dissolved, the daunting task of selling most of the shop equipment, and boxing up the rest for my official retirement hobby. I didn't think of the Memories, and Hard Choices, that would hit me every time I've opened a forgotten box or tub. Some that haven't been opened since we moved onto the farm. The other very difficult thing is how much I'm going to miss this shop, our neighbors/friends, and the slow easy lifestyle of Madison County Iowa. It is a true gift to have lived here, if only for a short time. I think the phrase "Iowa Nice" describes most of the state, but in my experience, Madison Co. must have been it's birthplace, right along with John Wayne. I will truly miss this place, and my neighbors. I'll be back to see you from time to time. You aren't getting rid of me that easy, I'm just moving into Des Moines.

It seems to be stretches of time between projects in black. Wickett and Craig black skirting leather tools so nicely that I just had to give a couple of holsters a try, and see how they go at the next trade show. Tooling burnishes well on tan or chestnut colored leather, but the basket still gives the black a nice texture and classic design.

Two holsters about ready to assemble.
Some activity is happening in the shop. Many orders.
1. One is a "J-Frame in a Basket". It's been a while since I've used this Basket Stamp. I like the combination with this particular border.
2. The Second one is "Rose for a Cowgirl". It will fit Old Style Vaquero's, and C**t size frames, in a 5.5"
