There's something special about a horse.
They don't care about diagnoses. They don't care about labels. They don't care about limitations.
They respond to kindness. To patience. To confidence. To connection.
For many participants, the barn becomes a place where they can simply be themselves.
At Reins of Love at Tally Ho, participants will learn horse care, grooming, horsemanship skills, teamwork, and confidence-building activities in a safe and welcoming environment.
Sometimes the greatest lessons happen long before anyone gets in the saddle.

A little bit of rain, a lot of smiles, and a whole lot of learning.
This past Sunday our riders headed to the Barneveld Horsemen's Association Hunter Show, where the forecast felt more Irish than New York. Between the misty skies, green horses finding their confidence, and young riders giving it their all, it was exactly the kind of horse show day that builds horsemen.
The ribbons were wonderful, and we're proud that everyone came home with some hardware to hang on the wall. But even more importantly, everyone came home with something far more valuable—experience, confidence, and a little more wisdom than they came with.
There were firsts, there were lessons, there were victories both big and small, and there were plenty of moments that reminded us why we do this.
We're incredibly proud of our riders, our horses, and the supportive families who spent the day cheering from ringside.
Rain or shine, the journey continues.

🐴❤️ A Dream Years in the Making

For years, we've watched horses change lives.
We've seen confidence grow with every step. We've seen quiet voices become stronger. We've seen children and adults discover courage they didn't know they had.
Today, we're excited to announce the launch of Reins of Love, an 8-week Adaptive Horsemanship Summer Program through the new organization Noble Reins in partnership with Tally Ho Equestrian.
This program is designed for individuals with disabilities and focuses on: 🐴 Horse care 🐴 Horsemanship 🐴 Confidence building 🐴 Teamwork 🐴 Connection 🐴 Fun and friendship
More than a riding program, Reins of Love is about creating opportunities, building relationships, and helping every participant discover what they are capable of.

What a day at the Wishing Tree Horse Show! 🌳🐴

From the first class to the last, our riders kept us busy all day long. There were ribbons, smiles, learning moments, confidence boosts, and plenty of horse show memories made along the way.

We're so proud of our riders for stepping into the ring, trying new things, supporting one another, and continuing to grow as horsemen and horsewomen. And our horses? They showed up and did their jobs beautifully. ❤️

As always, horse shows remind us that success isn't just about placings—it's about the lessons learned, the goals achieved, and the fun had along the way.

Now, about this whole trailer situation... 🤔

At some point we're going to need a semi. But at this point we will have to settle for a convoy. We seem to have reached the stage of program growth where we have more horses and riders wanting to go than trailer spots available. If anyone has a spare horse trailer sitting around collecting dust, we have a few riders who would like a word. 😂

Larkspur, Colorado isn't exactly a hotbed of eventing. But sometimes all it takes is one person saying "well, you just go do it" and a beginner's luck ribbon that keeps you coming back for many more years.

That's the origin story of Laura Backus, founder of Pendragon Stud Equestrian Center, who built a full eventing program on 78 acres an hour outside of Denver.

Her story is a reminder that the sport doesn't only live in Aiken or Ocala -- it lives wherever someone decides to plant a flag and build a community.
