Today, on the anniversary of Danroy โDJโ Henry Jr.โs passing, the Wareham Tigers would like to honor his memory and thank the DJ Henry Dream Fund and his parents, Dan and Angella Henry, for the incredible work they continue to do in his name.
At just 20 years old, DJโs life was tragically cut short when he was fatally shot by a police officer in Pleasantville, New York, on October 17, 2010. A talented student-athlete with a generous heart, DJ was known for sharing equipment and even helping pay sports fees for teammates so no one was left out.
His family has turned an unimaginable loss into a lasting legacy, ensuring children across Massachusetts have access to sports and other community programs regardless of financial circumstances.
Through the Dream Fund, many of our own Tigers athletes have had the opportunity to play the sports they love. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and their commitment to giving children positive outlets, building friendships, and creating opportunities.
We encourage all our Tigers families to learn more about DJโs story and the young man behind this incredible foundation. ๐งก๐ค๐งก
Thank you, Dan and Angella, for keeping DJโs spirit alive through the lives you continue to touch.
