Drop DEADLINE 1:00 PM Monday March 16
(Saturday 3/14 for PC store)
All skis will be finished in approximately 10 days

Well folks, it's really dry and WARM here. Snow for Nordic skiing is hard to come by, but Reggie liked her 60 degree winter solstice foothills walk yesterday.

January grind batch is set for week of Jan 12 as below.

Contender Bike ski drop off window:

25-26 Grind schedule update:

We will provide grind service again this season, but on a much more limited basis than in past years. Gone is the twice a month drop on Monday get them back Wednesday service we've spoiled you with for the past 8 years.

Between Tim's knee injury rehab and Barry's race travel schedule we've decided to commit to minimum of 3 service dates. We might add a batch or two through the season, but as two retired guys in our mid 60's doing this from love for skiing we don't want to commit to more than below. Thanks for understanding.

PRESEASON - November, all skis completed by 11/21
MIDWINTER - Mid-late January, final date TBD
SPRING - Mid March TBD

GRIND SERVICE SUSPENDED 3/1/25
Tim has a sustained a knee injury requiring surgery. There will be no further ski service this spring with possible resumption in Autumn of '25. Thanks to all.

Mid Winter Service Schedule:

Current scheduled weeks for grind batches. Drop your skis at SLC Contender Bikes by 4:00 on respective Mondays and they will be finished and returned by Thursday same week.
(PC Contender store drop deadline is Saturday)

Nice to see some snow!!
Monday 11/18 is last day to drop your skis for November grind service. Skis dropped by 4:30 PM will be completed Thursday 11/21.
After this next service will be week of December 9.

Fall '24 Preliminary Grind Schedule:

Hope everyone is enjoying the perfect fall weather we're having, get out and play people!!

The shop will set up in October and we will begin regular grinding right around Halloween. Contender Bicycles has again kindly agreed to support this endeavor by facilitating ski drop and pickup.
PLEASE(!!) be sure to let them know how much you appreciate their support of the ski community.
DATES:
*** Monday October 21 - First day to drop skis at Contender 900 South and Park City locations - Don't show up early, they won't have check in materials yet!!
*** November - Grinding begins last week of October. All skis will be completed by 11/21 or sooner
*** No grinding Thanksgiving week or week following - (11/25 and12/2)

Putting away my alpine and touring skis today and thought to share a lazy man's backyard summer storage wax method.
I'm sure you all have everything dialed in, but just in case you're "asking for a friend" here's a no tool, no mess, no effort (almost) way to get little wax in your bases.

Is it optimal? NO.
Is it super easy and helpful?? YES!

Simply rub some warmish wax (red or softer in most brands) on black base skis and place them in the sun for 15-20 minutes. You'll be surprised how much wax melting happens and come fall your skis won't be all dried out and oxidized.
