We’ve had several inquiries asking if we will be helping with catchers at BSA…the answer is YES!

We will work on receiving, blocking, pitch calling and throw downs!

It was a warm, but beautiful evening for golf today. We were up at Snow Hill for the 2nd round of SHAC League tournament. I saw a lot of good shots from all the players tonight with 8 players shooting in the 30’s.

I was impressed with Thomas tonight of how he switched gears from baseball yesterday in Georgia to golf in Ohio today. He tied for 2nd tonight with a score of 36 (+1).

Three things we’ve been working on this season to help lower his scores. And things we’ll be working on with our golf students at Barnhart Sports Academy.

1. Keep your ball in play to limit penalty shots. Try to finish the round with the same ball you started.

2. Control your speed on the greens to leave easy 2 putts. Really try to stay away from 3 putting.

3. Hit the green when you have a wedge in your hand. Try to leave yourself on the proper side of the hole.

As a player, if you can do these 3 things you will see your scores drop.

Headed back from PG Fall World Series - team ended up falling short in semifinals.

Here are some highlights from the event for Thomas.

He will be helping out with the baseball sessions and for the older athletes, there will be sessions each week to train alongside him!

Batted .333 on the week and had the 5th highest pitcher score for the event.

BIG NEWS COMING TO WEST UNION!

Over the past few years, we have provided baseball, softball, and golf instruction on and off. After seeing the need for quality local training, we have decided to take the next step and launch Barnhart Sports Academy full-time!

Adams County and the surrounding area have talented athletes, but local training opportunities can be limited. Our goal is to give athletes a convenient place to develop their skills, build confidence, and take their game to the next level—without having to travel hours for quality instruction and training.

Barnhart Sports Academy will welcome athletes of all ages and skill levels.

⚾ Baseball and softball training will help players prepare for recreational leagues, travel ball, high school, college, or wherever they are in their development.

⛳ Golf instruction will be available for golfers of every age and ability—whether they are just learning the game or want to hit the ball farther, improve consistency, and shoot lower scores.

Services will include:

• Private and group instruction
• Camps and clinics
• Hitting and pitching cage rentals
• Speed, strength, and agility training
• Packages and memberships
• Easy-to-use online scheduling

A complete website will be launching soon, with online booking, scheduling, and payment available.

Barnhart Sports Academy is scheduled to open in October 2026, and I cannot wait to help athletes throughout our area improve, compete, and reach their goals!
