A huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended the Suffield Sportsmen’s Association Annual Kids Fishing Derby yesterday!

It was an incredible day filled with great fishing, amazing food, and tons of smiles from all the kids who participated. Seeing so many families come out and enjoy the day made all the hard work worth it.

A special shout out goes to Eric Kobos and the entire Kids Fishing Derby Committee for all of the time and effort they put into making this event such a success. We also want to thank Brian Walters for helping secure donations and prizes from all of our wonderful sponsors — your support helped make the day extra special for the kids.

The food was unbelievable, the fishing was great, but the smiles from the kids were truly top notch!

Thank you again to all of our volunteers, sponsors, members, and families who made the day possible. We can’t wait to see everyone again next year!

Such an awesome morning for the Kids Fishing Derby Today at our club pond! So many fish caught with over 170 kids registered. Huge thank you to all of the local businesses that donated, see the list below, without them our event wouldnt be possible. Can’t wait for next year!

Under 24 Hours Away!

Tomorrow is the big day! We are looking forward to a great event with lots of smiles from the kids catching some awesome fish. See details below as well as what to do when you arrive.

Event Details:

May 3, 2025

Registration Check in Start: 7:15 am

Fishing Start Time: 8:00am

Fishing End time : 10:00am

Prize and Awards: 10:00am-10:30am

Location: 261 Warnertown Road West Suffield, CT

Food and Drinks will be available at no charge

When you arrive

Pull onto a gravel driveway and look for a parking attendant to guide you to a parking spot. Grab your fishing gear and head over to the registration table. The registration table will be covered with pop up tents and next to the food/grilling area. Please see one of the registration attendants and provide them with the child’s name and age. A color-coded sticker tag will be given to the child and will be used to identify them when checking in a fish. Please have the child wear the color-coded tag for the duration of the fishing derby.We Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Perfect day with the Suffield Boy Scouts Range Day! 14 Scouts worked to earn their Rifle and Shotgun Merit Badges. Big shout out to Justin Rink for helping getting this set up and Eric Bulgajewski, our Duty Officer, John Apt, our master of Arms and Kyle Lattora, an RSO for making sure the event was run smoothly and safely!

Today the club welcomes the Suffield Boy Scouts back to Suffield Sportsman’s Association. This awesome event will be from 11-3pm.

Thanks to our duty officer, our master of arms as well as range safety officers for helping run this awesome event! It is great to have the Boy Scouts back to practice gun safety. Pictures to follow!
