The last ride for this edition of the Grind Sim Racing Xfinity car tonight at Richmond for the Xfinity Cup Series resulted in an unexpected P5 finish.

Not a place I generally find speed, so I opted for a strategic approach of rolling the paint and saving tires and fuel. The fuel saving was not relevant until the final stint where I was able to pick up 4 spots as I ran out of gas crossing the line in 5th.

A blessing in disguise as I spun the tires in a mid race restart that set me back, but it really just set the strategy in motion.

Since the win in Daytona I’m locked into the playoffs but a run like this really helps with the confidence at short tracks that I desperately needed.

Moving on to next week we will have a freshly painted up ORielly Racing Series banner and stickers on the car to reflect NASCAR’s 2026 real life branding.

Shout out to Grind Sim Racing for riding with us.

I needed a bounce back night and Vegas is usually a place for me that would be conducive for such a night.

After all the tech issues last week, I opted to qualify for the back of the field, but quickly settled in. I made some great progress from starting in the 30s to race up into nearly 20th before slightly stepping on my own pe**ee and did some damage to the RF. A dozen laps later, I was hit by a roller during a caution and it really damaged the car. It took me about 130 laps to get the car back to feeling racey.

By then, we were p18 and a couple laps down, but kept grinding. When the dust settled, I’m extremely happy with a P12 finish. We’re back at it this Wednesday night at Michigan. I’ve never had luck here in the Cup car as I seemingly beat the wall to a pulp. I may try a new approach that doesn’t include the wall.

The season at EOL is about to get started with the season opener at Daytona.

After a lackluster run in qualifying last week, I had my work cut out for me in Duel 1 on Wednesday. Fortunately, all three teammates were in the same race and it really helped.

A great pit call before a natural green-white-checkered put me in a great spot to make it happen. A great restart and I got myself exactly where I needed to be for a last lap push for a win.

I got the 12 car and I way out front down the back stretch with a teammate (in the 21) closing hard to get me the push. The 12 did his job an cleanly blocked me enough to break momentum. Well executed on his part, and he earned that win. We brought it home in 4th, and we will start inside row 4 in the main event.

I don’t normally like that, but surrounded by awesome drivers like Roos, Mettler, Blake, my teammates all around me, plus a pack of fellow Fords - I like the situation.

Daytona is a track that has treated me well. I’ve won this race in other leagues and I consider myself a candidate to win any time I roll off of pit road here. The EOL series has eluded me. Will this be the year?

Hell or high water, this might be my best chance. Tune in Wednesday night to see if I can find a way to park the #13 Adrenaline Rush Coffee Co Ford Mustang in victory lane against 42 amazing drivers.

The opener didn’t go my way personally, but extremely happy at our team results. Reese took the checkered, Gilbert in p9, while and all 6 of our team members found their way to the front at some point. The racing was physical and it prevented us from getting into any sequence with numbers.

On to Vegas!

🏁 CHRIS REESE TAKES THE CHECKERED FLAG AT DAYTONA! 🏁

The season is off to a thrilling start as Chris Reese wins the Go-Crete 325 at Daytona, capturing the first victory of the year in dominant fashion! 🏆🔥

Reese is the first driver to punch his ticket into the playoffs.

Not only does Reese start the season in Victory Lane, but he also secures the Dash 4 Cash bonus, making him a cool $100 richer! 💰💨

A huge congrats to Chris and his team on an epic performance! Who’s ready to see what he does next? 👀🏁

Tonight’s the kickoff of Esports Oval League’s Grind Cup Series season, and we’re very excited to get it rolling. The 40 race schedule starts off at Daytona, and our team of Fords is absolutely ready to dig in.

We’ve flexed our power and teamwork in the Shootout and Duels already, and tonight’s event hopefully puts a punctuation mark on our performance.

Our team consists of the #13 of CJ Papa, the #62 of Chris Reese, the #27 of Jonathan Cogswell, the #12 of Sean Louder, #17 or Mark Gilbert, and the #6 of Bryce Gainey.

The CJ Papa Ford Mustang for this week will be the adrenalinerushcoffeeco ride, and it will be the primary car for most of the season. Also in the garage is the Grind Sim Racing car, the Roush Performance Parts car, and the Between Two Sterns car.

Stick around for a link to the broadcast which starts at 9pm Eastern tonight.

I haven’t been posting much lately as I’m gearing up for a fun winter and working on some side projects. Right now, my home office is consumed by my new sim racing rig which is 90% complete. I’ll be the proud owner of a TrakRacer TR160 rig with quad monitors.

I did participate (using the term loosely) with my friends at Roush Performance Esports. Due to the transition and the build, I had to quickly move my wheel and pedals back to my desk rig and had some calibration issues which led me to not getting any practice time in. I’m not a GT3 racer normally, and I did pick up pace during the racing, but I was a field filler at best. Started somewhere in the mid-30s and I believe I finished 25th. Not bad considering my lack of road experience in heavier cars but I sure know my way around the Indy road course which helped. What didn’t help was running 40fps with this massive field.

This may have been my last go in the desk rig. The new rig will have 3 new ultrawide monitors and should eliminate this as an issue.

What an awesome night of highs and lows. I will say, I dislike Texas as a race track. I have never been strong there, I haven't had good results, and I haven't really enjoyed racing there.

I was given a gift to even be able to make the final event, and even more fortunate to make the show on my qualifying time. Starting in the 33 spot in a 40 car field full of brilliant race car drivers, I really needed the race to be messy.

I did not get my wish. I think we had a 70 lap green flag run to start the race which featured me running the RF down to the cords which had me two laps down and in 36th place. I was able to race my way back to one lap down, then a pair of cautions later, I was back on the lead lap.

With $4000 on the line to win, the aggression played into my hands to an extent. The race came down to a green-white-checkered finish and I was able to press the issue on the outside line to hold off strong runs to hold on to a P17 finish.

Racing with guys far more talented than I, it was really gratifying to be able to grind out a good finish from what could have been a disaster.

Thank you to for hosting the event, and thank you to First Page Media for the good looking Ford Mustang!

Everything is bigger in Texas, as they say. I suppose that includes this massive wreck at the conclusion of the ERA Gaming event tonight. That's me in the bottom right obliterating the wall.

I am in my glory this week on iRacing officials with Kansas on the NASCAR schedule and Talladega in the Trucks for the DraftMasters. Two races tonight with a podium at Kansas in the truck and a big fat dubbers in the same truck at Talladega.

This truck is going to be retired soon in favor for a brand new Grind Sim Racing Ford F-150, so I am going to try to send these ONE3 Speed oval cars out with a bang this week!

It's been a while since I've done some meaningful league or event races, but got back into the swing of things tonight in something comfortable... Trucks at Talladega in the SSIL Demon Truck Series.

The only Ford in the field was super competitive and I could move towards the front on demand and the blue oval was an awesome pusher. The 13 truck pushed 6 different drivers to the lead.

The 00 truck of Kevin Coleman was just a little bit smoother than I, and when it came to the last corner, it was him pushing me and he was able to pull off a textbook pass at the line to win by a margin of 0.013, ironically.

I will certainly take a 2nd place in my first league action in months. I had a ton of fun, but don't know when my next chance to race with these guys will be.

Thanks to ONE3 Speed, Grind Sim Racing, and First Page Media for the support in this, my 25th season.
