Good morning Volleyball Families! We are getting closer to the Summer Club Tryout period, and we wanted to share information so you can be best informed and make the best decisions for your Player(s) and Family this coming year. We have gotten several questions, and realize that the road to get through Tryouts and into a Club can be daunting and confusing, particularly for new Families.
First, our Club participates in three different Volleyball governing institutions, each with their own events, guidelines, with many overlapping "things" -
USAV, Badger Region Volleyball (USA Volleyball, and our region is the Badger Region, these are essentially one in the same)
JVA (Junior Volleyball Association)
AAU (Amateur Athletic Union)
First, the Summer Tryout period can begin on July 18th, and the first commitment date is July 22nd. This is driven by USA Volleyball (USAV) regions, ours is the Badger Region Volleyball. Encourage you to check out their website and learn more. The last time that an offer to join a Club for the Summer can be "signed" is July 31st.
The JVA has explicitly stated in their published guidelines (linked here, and sent to all Club Directors again today) that https://jvavolleyball.org/best-practices-for-running.../
"1. Know and Follow Your USAV Region Tryout Dates
Every USAV region has specific rules governing the timing, structure, and communication of tryouts. Familiarize yourself with these policies early and adhere to them strictly. This includes respecting tryout start dates, observing required blackout periods, and ensuring all athletes have proper membership or waivers in place before participating. Transparent adherence to regional rules protects your club’s reputation and demonstrates respect for the broader volleyball community."
AAU does not have any published guidelines, but AAU and JVA have a strategic partnership, and it is generally accepted that AAU Clubs follow the JVA guidelines in this matter.
You are encouraged to try out for more than one Club, potentially receive one or more offers, and have enough time to make an informed decision and find your best opportunity. There are also other opportunities to get into the gym with most Clubs, so take them up on that, and see if the environment is what you are looking for.
As always, if you have questions, please reach out to us - email is best, Facebook Messenger is not great -- [email protected]
Good luck during the Tryout period!
Here are our links to our programming. Note that you are going to get a t-shirt for the camp, as well as tryouts. If you want your Player to get the specified size, we need your registration by tomorrow, June 10th at 5 PM. After that, you will still get a shirt, but we have to order all shirts tomorrow, so you get what you get. --

We are planning to form two teams at each of these age groups - 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17/18U - that's 12 total Teams. Any expansion of that requires us to find a quality Coach and onboard them prior to Tryouts. We are willing to have more, we just want the situation to be right for everyone. We are actively seeking Coaches now, let us know if you or someone you know are interested, now is the time to rise up! -- https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSeg-AAegG.../viewform...
Good luck during the Tryout season, wish you all the best in your VB journey! Have a great day!
