Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end" - Semisonic
It truly is unreal to look back at the last 5 years and think of all of the souls that have passed through this space. What is just a building of brick and mortar, metal frames and drywall, but within these walls, we managed to create magic together! I've had the chance to change lives, help people accomplish new PRs and skills, train new trainers and coaches, made some amazing friends and relationships, but most of all, we all became a part of each others' history together.
And that's the thing I will never forget. :)
I've said this a lot over the last month or 2, "every membership is emotional to me; from the excitement and joy on the day you signed up, to the sadness and self-doubt I felt on the day you canceled; every membership came and went through me." And by no means am I looking for a pity party, I just mean to say that I had the chance to meet every one of you, sit down with many of you, talk about your goals, help devise a plan to reach those goals, watch you achieve those goals, probably yell at you in class or tell you to "go heavier/add weight," and be a part of YOUR fitness journey. I am forever thankful for that and appreciate you all for welcoming me and my team into your lives. I know I can speak safely for them that they felt the same way.
I could sit here and tell story after story, experience after experience, for better or for worse, for hours and hours (ya'll know I can talk and write a long ass email lol), but I'll spare social media my blubbering and save it for the Final Workout and Farewell Party. I just want everyone to know, whether you came in, joined or not, stayed or left, you've all been a part of my history and will forever be ingrained in my memories for the rest of my life. I've appreciated everyone's continued support, from inside the gym to the social media space. It truly has been "a good run."
"No one accomplishes anything alone." I absolutely could not have done ANY of this without the continued support of my staff and the trainers that have passed through over the years. From Day 1 has been with me, following me over from a previous gym we worked together at. He's an amazing coach and even more wonderful person who I've learned so much from over these years together. I know (and he does too) that this isn't the end of the road for us together, but just onward to new beginnings and getting stronger. And we cannot forget, the "gym mom," who cleans the gym, the one getting people water/hydration/ice packs, bothering people about billing, dealing with your Wodify accounts, and managing my life to keep my ass in line at every turn. I've had such a pleasure watching Cayla grow into a new woman while at this gym together! Her and her family have been there for every gym repair or update with a smile and not a single complaint; I cannot thank you and your family enough for their support. Same as above, I know our friendship will continue to grow beyond the gym, but you've seriously "kept my ass in check" all these years and it doesn't go unnoticed.
With that, I want to give a huge shoutout to our social media marketing consultant Kelsey with for all of the work she's been putting in over the last few months making our fliers, emails and IG posts much "prettier" than I EVER could! lol She's been an absolute pleasure to work with and for anyone looking for a great marketing consultant, I'd highly recommend her (she specializes in Wine)! But, after today, she will no longer be managing the social media accounts and we will not be making any further efforts to attract new members.
While I am NOT shutting down the page, we will mostly be offering informational posts about the final weeks of the gym and equipment still available for purchase; essentially announcements only. If there are any posts or pics that you'd like from over the years, please feel free to reach out as well. I have a Google Drive FULL of photos and whatnot. You'll have to give me until after 8/13 to get to your requests but any memories that you may want, please let us know and we'll do our best to get those sent over to you.
As usual, this got WAYYY longer than expected, and while you can't see the lump in my throat while writing this, trust me, it's there! Thank you all for taking the time to read this if you made it this far. Thank you all for the years and years of memories and experiences together that will NEVER be forgotten. I truly hope I had a positive impact on all of your lives and that our paths continue to cross.
Hope to see everyone at the 5 Year Anniversary, Final Workout, Farewell Party on 8/13/22! Friends, family, prior members, current members and guests are welcome to join us for the workout, celebration, or both! Come send off the gym right!
This is only "goodbye...for now." Peace and love!
