Aikido West Reading Aikido West Reading practices the Japanese martial art of Aikido. Please contact an instructor about confirming your vaccination status.

COVID-19 Policies:
-Masks are not required to enter the dojo presently.
-Masks are optional for fully vaccinated students (who show proof of vaccination).
-Stay home if you are sick or showing symptoms of any illness.
-Students are required to wash their hands prior to coming on the mat and are encouraged to reclean throughout class.
-Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to be maskless and

participate in empty hand training. Any student is welcome to participate in Saturday morning weapons class. Other weapons classes may be available as advertised by instructors.
-Training weapons will be wiped down after use

About AWR:
Aikido West Reading became affiliated with the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU), founded by Mitsugi Saotome Shihan and now directed by a board of his senior students. AWR continues to be affiliated with the ASU, and is connected to Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan, through this affiliation. In the summer of 1999, the students formed the Board of Directors and began leading the dojo as a student-run organization. The Board is currently comprised of three senior members of the dojo who regularly teach classes, organize seminars, arrange for social events, and oversee the maintenance and care of the dojo. Current Instructors are Chris Lynaugh (1st Kyu), Eric Webber (3rd Dan) and Michael Harrell (4th Dan and Chief Instructor)

All of the members share in paying monthly dues, maintaining and caring for the dojo, and providing a safe and welcoming atmosphere to all who earnestly wish to come and train in Aikido.
