"I cannot wait to do this again in 2020! " was exactly what I said as I came to a stop in Okoboji at 204 miles in just over 10 hours.
I knew from the moment I completed BTC200 in 2019 that I wanted to do it again. I remember hugging and crying my partner in biking, Deanne, joyful tears streaming down both our faces and feeling so grateful for the opportunity to use my voice and my bike to really make a difference.
I had already started training when Covid-19 hit and everyone's lives came to a screeching halt. Suddenly it became hard to train, hard to ask for donations, hard to think about anything but the virus.
Unfortunately, human traffickers don't care that we are in the midst of a global pandemic, and children are still being bought and sold daily all around us. Even after Covid-19 is something we talk about as "remember when....?" victims of human trafficking will continue to be enslaved unless we stop it.
If human trafficking wasn't stopping, then neither could I. So I put on my big girl chamois, refocused and stayed on course with my training because it is something I can do right now. I can just keep pedaling! I'm riding alone, outdoors and on the trainer, but I'm riding because my miles will make a difference. I will ride 200 miles on June 26.
The BTC200 team has changed the format of the ride to allow this to continue safely using social distancing guidelines. If you are able to donate, I would love and appreciate your financial support & well wishes.

Thank you friends, family & team mates for your love & support!
